Kopitar is a 1st ballot HOF, for sure!
Kopi is definitely one of the greatest players to ever wear a Kings sweater. Simply put, he was an integral part of bringing the cup to LA twice; he’s hardworking, humble, and sincere. Much respect to the Triple Crown Line, Vachon, Gretzky, and the rest of the other Kings who played before my time but in my opinion, KOPI is the GOAT of my generation (with brownie, quickie, and Dewey also at the top of the list). Excited for next season! GKG 👑 GRG 👑
Kopi is the greatest King. I would love to see him hit a bit more and use his body but very minor criticism. Does he even know were the penalty box is? Lol.
I've been a Kings fan since I was 19, I'm 74 now. I've always put Marcel Dionne and Dave Taylor at the top of my favorite King players list, but after watching the entire career of Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty, they just have to be added to that list.
I think Kopitar game will decline next season and will retire after next year but i do hope he has another good year next season and sighns for a couple more seasons and and then hangs em up at the young age of 38
I have Kopitar on my Kings Mt. Rushmore along with Dionne, Quick, and Luc. He should finish his career here and do so as the franchise's all time leading scorer. I'm all for signing Kopitar to a front loaded extension. But I wouldn't go higher than $4M AAV. A 5/15-20 seems fine with $10-12M of it in the first two years. He'll still be a 3C quality and two way C by the time he hits 40 but we're going to have to pay the kids all within the next 3 seasons and we can't have $5+M tied to a 38(+) year old.
I believe Kopi will want to see this group win a championship. Then he will consider retirement. We are close as far as our build. Just need to fine tune the roster but it just needs a few tweaks.
Kopi will see it through.
Kopitar is a living/playing legend. We need to fire Blake immediately. That is all
