How did this happen again? This should not be possible.
This was honestly one of the greatest goalie cellys I have ever seen! We all saw earlier this week, as Linus Ullmark scored his first goalie goal and the first in Boston Bruins history in what was just an awesome sight to see. Well, last night Pyotr Kochetkov of the Carolina Hurricanes but playing for the AHL Chicago Wolves, scored a goalie goal of his own, proceeded to celebrate in amazing fashion and THEN, got into a tussle getting ejected from the game meaning he was just an assist away from a GOALIE Gordie Howe hat trick. That would have been amazing. Anyway, enjoy as I cover it all in todays AHL hockey highlight recap!

These are competitors-it really doesn't matter what they're doing… They're always trying to be the best.
Do you play sports?
Have you ever played hockey? You've never seen one guy on the team score, then another one feels left out? Pasta does it all the time
Some of his late-game goals, in games the bruins are way ahead, that's just Pasta's competitive nature.
Everybody else is scoring!
Bringing in Orlov, Bertuzzi and Hawthorne? They've just given Pastrnak new competition-coaches know that.. he likes the spotlight.
His forechecking, hitting, blocking stats are also going to go up.
Yes that goalie goal celly went way too far. He definitely would get an earful in the NHL
But it was AHL, his big moment, nobody should really care. AHL is where boyz can be boyz. That's an exceptional play.
They don't get paid a lot, so they should be allowed that perk
Ullmark tells the story how he got in trouble for over- celebrating a Sabres win- a coach & a teammate put him in his place, reminded him it was a team sport.
That's what teammates are for.
Yet when he looks back on this in another 30-40 years? He's going to be laughing with his grandkids…
And so will everyone else involved
Goalies have to stay in control, not show emotion… They don't get to celebrate goals & hi-five during the game like the rest of the team.
Even if it's everybody else's fault? The puck gets past them? It's on them. They can't squeak, got to stay even.
So I love watching goalie jumping up and down in those great big pads!
Should've seen it in the 70s with the heavy-duty leather Lol!
It's not the NHL. Let them be kids so we can all have a good time between the betting, ads, revenues 🙄
I'd say it's all worth it.
Igor Shesterkin had given Ullmark advice all-star weekend during the goalie competition – to shoot the puck from the right side of the goalie net, not the left as in All Stars.
Linus said he didn't do as Igor advised and wishes he did.
When the opportunity came up in Vancouver, he knew he was in the exact spot Igor advised, that's partly why he went for it
His goal was calculated – if Linus didn't get that lift on the puck? He had 3 Canucks waiting to pop that puck in the net
Where Patrice Bergeron was standing as a sitting duck… That would've hurt 😳
Congrats to both boyz!
Can't wait until Kochetkov becomes starting goalie for the Canes
