[Bader] No player in the model that had the generational profile like Bedard and Michkov (1990 to Present) has been anything less than a superstar producer in the NHL.

Welcome to today’s “Just fuckin draft Michkov” post!

Bader’s model has 9 prospects since 1990 with a “generational” profile. Yes I know the word generational is overused. Anyways, the 9 are:

Kariya, Crosby, Kane, McDavid, Eichel, Matthews, Hughes, Bedard, Michkov.

Being the worst out of this group would still make Michkov our best forward in 40 years

I’m fully convinced the sharks take him

  3. I’m not big on labels (“generational”, “elite”, “ceiling” and all those simplifications) and I’m also not big on comparisons (another simplification), but to better nail down the kind of player Michkov is/could be, I’d have to concede that he resembles Patrick Kane a lot. He’s has a similar build and is just as slippery. Michkov is maybe slower in straight lines but better laterally than Kane was. They’re also both wingers who mostly drove and controlled the offensive play from the perimeter.

Michkov is maybe a better scorer than Kane, with a better array of shots and more belief that he can score from any angle.

But in the end, if you want to project the kind of trajectory Michkov might have, Kane is a good baseline because the limits (size, strength, difficulty to play inside the defensive box) are similar and the strengths (hands, vision, deceptiveness, etc) are also similar.

FYI baders model is 100% based on points production. It’s not a secret, nor is this new information that michkov has put up historic numbers in the khl the past 2 years.

All these model makers should put out the Alexandre Daigle model to show us if it’s trustable or not

Wow, that’s a pretty bold claim by Bader. But when you look at the generational profile of players like Bedard and Michkov, it’s hard to argue with the results. It’ll be interesting to see if this trend continues, but for now, I’m excited to see what these young players can do in the NHL.

  7. Yes 100% cost controlled and can be borderline elite at times. He is undersized but he still drives play

I’ll admit I don’t understand Baders model but people criticize it because it looks at production only. If that’s the case can someone explain why Jack Hughes got the generational talent but Will Smith didn’t even though Will Smith broke his production record?

  9. I wish we draft him or at least pick before our pick, I don’t want to regret not picking such a stud.

As much as it pains me to say, Michkov will be off the board by the time we draft. If by some miracle he isn’t, then we would be completely insane not to take him. The upside on this kid is just so high.

👧: It’s time for your daily pick Michkov post

    😔: Yes honey

The reason I am right thinking he won’t be available at 5

The risk isn’t that he busts,

The risks is that he never comes over to the NHL.

If he is there you fucking take him or you are a coward.
