Hronek was never going to be a top 4 defenseman for a championship quality team… this year's team is going nowhere, nice trade
What a great return for Hronek. Im ok with it due to what we have in the pipeline. I think what we have in our pipeline has more potential than Hronek's ceiling. Defence needs revamping anyway

That is a W. Cleared the cap space to make bigger moves and got insane value. Sell high baby. Sell high. I believe we have more than one big move between now and this summer. Hronek was a black hole defensively and unfortunately as much as his offensive game is nice, this gives us options, especially heading into the deepest draft in years. The captain got 8.7 x 8 and that is a great deal to keep Larkin. Yzerman making big moves baby. Love it.

Hronek was a good offensive defenseman but there were times that I just shook my head and yelled with him in the defensive zone. The wings need to get bigger and tougher. I think it's time for Stevie to work a trade with his buddy in St Louis again, Colton Parayko would seem to fit the bill?
Yzerman has to have scandalous pictures of these GMs to keep straight-up robbing them of picks for broken toys.
Yzerman was never gonna give him 7-8 per year on his next contract. Saw hronek getting traded long time ago

From a different perspective, why in the heck would Vancouver do this? They are somewhat tearing it down and now they give up prime assets? For a middleing defenseman?
We really missed you guys last night Scotty. I like to hear you guys vent and say all the bad things I am thinking. I don't blame you guys for not wanting to do an episode because there wasn't much to talk about after such a painful loss. I think you guys should do a live stream episode on the late night games if you are able to do that.
Gotta remember this team was historically bad 2 years ago and the future (5-6 years) will only have a handful of the current roster on it. We need a pipeline and two tops 40 picks for hronek with one being maybe top 20 or better is a great return.

Scotty this year is an anomaly. Look at his career stats. If he didn’t have oli matti as a partner his plus minus would look just the same. Can’t win puck battles. Can’t skate out of his own zone with the puck. Big time puck watcher. His favorite passes were up the boards to the opposition d- man or ice it. I love this. Bring up the kids and let’s see what they can do.
