Let’s talk about my own reactions from yesterday’s Team Russia vs Team USA World Juniors 2021 game, where we discuss Vancouver Canucks top prospect Vasili Podkolzin and top Montreal Canadiens prospect Cole Caufield.

Canucks fans seem to be super negative towards Podkolzin, while Habs fans are over the moon on Caufield, so much to the point of frustration towards Team USA.

Caufield and Podkolzin were both top NHL prospects at the 2019 NHL Entry Draft.

  1. Ya was Sanderson that had the bad giveaway but nobody mentions that Berard was the centre there and just completely missed the pass/let it got through him to Ponomarev. Equally both there faults but nobody has mentioned Berard at all

  2. Loving the WJC's! In regards to Poldz power forwards take longer to develop but have a greater impact than perimeter players

  3. Caufield did not look good.. He had quite a few Grade A chances and flubbed them.. Where's those hands?

  4. Sorry dude but you are getting waaaaaay to many ad's it's like 5 of them in 8 minutes , one or two sure .. but this is getting ridiculous

  5. caufield was way too inconsistent imo, he'd have 1 good shift then followed by 3-4 shifts where was invisble.

  6. Why can't anybody receive a pass from podkolzin. I'm tried of watching podkolzin work the puck in and make a beautiful pass to a teammate, and then the puck just bounces off their sticks. The same thing happened last year to him. I know vancouver forwards will be drooling for passes like next year.

  7. I think the answer here is mostly that the russians where just the better team. In general the USA team was terrible… Even Spencer Knight wasnt having a great night. For Caufield i just wonder why they keep putting him on the second line without their best playmaker. At this point im questionning if there is a big reason for that, it's not normal that in the two world juniors he player he kept being use on the 2nd or 3rd line every time. I'm not one to start creating stories but i just wonder really wonder what is the reason for that…?

  8. I have been watching hockey since Bobby Orr. Religiously. Podkolzin was a non factor in both of his WJC games so far. It is not about the scoresheet. The fact that he was not involved in any way on any of the 5 Russian goals last night pretty much justifies the concerns that a Canucks fan would have. Other than one rush and a couple of decent passes he was ordinary at best. I am a Canucks fan and I hope the kid works out for the Canucks but he demonstrated nothing to me that shows he is capable of driving offensive production. It is early in the tournament so let's hope he improves.

  9. I literally have all notifications turned on and I still didn’t get notified bout the stream
