I don’t know much about him, would he be a good pick up for Calgary?

  2. itwasthedingo

No chance he comes here, we don’t have the flexibility to make the moves a big name GM would want to make

  3. He is going to end up in Pittsburg is my bet.

In his season ending presser he said he would either be back with the leafs, or would he taking some time away. So I doubt he finds a new job this summer.

Didn’t Dubas say he wouldn’t go anywhere other than Toronto? Then he chooses not to come back.

Sounds like the guy wants some time off to be with his family.

Before we get ahead of ourselves watch his interview. He said if he’s not staying in Toronto he doesn’t want to force his family to move by taking on a GM role elsewhere.

Don Maloney, please open the chequebook

We will not hire Dubas. It will be Conroy, Pascall or someone young (in comparison to the dinosaurs employed by CSEC).

Conspiracy theory here: flames are not letting teams talk to Brad because they want to be able to offer that option to the leafs. In exchange they get exclusive right to talk to Dubas

just FYI, he wanted more autonomy and control in Toronto. I don’t think he is a great fit with this ownership group who love to meddle, it would be a step backward for him, even though he is the perfect guy to navigate the cap issues this team will face in the next 3 years

  11. iggyisgoat

I don’t think there’s any chance he comes to CGY.

    1. He said he was gonna either stay in TO or take some time off
    2. No way Murray is paying the salary he will want

Eh, I don’t really get the hype around him. The way he & the Leafs organization completely caved on the Matthews and Marner deals is a huge reason why they struggled with depth issues throughout his tenure.

We’ll take him if he wants to work for cheap!

Honestly what has Dubas done that makes him a desirable get? Core in Toronto was there before him. He hasn’t been bad, but I don’t know if he’s been good either
