He Was a Legendary Knockout Machine! …but One Tragic Fight!

He can basically be called the toughest middleweight puncher of all time. He put his opponents to sleep without any effort, as evidenced by the statistics themselves 31 fights, 29 knockout victories… But one crazy fight put not only his career but also his life on the line. Today we will talk about a fight that not only ended in tragedy, but also buried the careers of two fighters at once. And also reveal all the details of the famous fight Gerald McClellan vs Nigel Benn – one of the most terrible fights in middleweight history so far.

  2. I personally think the fight he had with Julian Jackson was the one that probably done more of the damage

  3. There's another part to this story that most wouldn't know. Alledgedly Gerald was having issues with Don King. Gerald complained that Don King wouldn't pay him champion money even after knocking out Julian Jackson twice. After the fight with Benn it was said that Gerald's trainer was paid by Don King to add muscle relaxers to Gerald's water because of a serious argument they had.

  4. 😢do. Is the worst a day o 💰 comes before a person.
THE DREAM $TRUTH IN ONE MAN,NO CEILING ONLY GOD KNOWS 🙏

  5. Marvelous Marvin Hagler. I’ll take him as the hardest punching knock out artist middle weight of all time. 62 wins 52 KO’s. Highest KO % of all undisputed middleweight champions at 78%.

  6. They are not banned in the UK i live in the UK and you can pick these up at every supermarket 🤷‍♂️

  7. McClellan got served karma here. All the dogs he abused and killed dog fighting, this was god's way of punishing him for it.

  8. Don King should have been banned from boxing YEARS AGO, THAT MAN IS A DEMON, BOXERS SHOULD NEVER HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH DON KING, GERALD ALMOST DIED, WITH NO MONEY CAUSE DEMON DON KING STOLE HIS EARNINGS

  9. "Solid but still a home champion who spent the vast majority of fights at home".

This is such an American centric take that is typical of US commentators. Before this fight McCellan had fought outside the US a grand total of 3 times. Benn had fought in 5 different countries and had fought in the US 5 times alone.

It was in fact McClellan who was the home fighter having spent the vast majority of his fights at home. Benn was well known throughout Europe and had defended his WBO belt against Iran Barkley in the US.

  10. McClelland won the first round, drew the second and got the crap beaten out of him for the rest of the fight. Your unwillingness to give Benn any credit for the biggest upset and beatdown possibly in all of Boxing history is an indicator of some huge bias. Much like all the American pundits who claimed after the fact that McClelland was already injured/only lost because Benn cheated/blah blah blah.

Both fighters gave their all – Benn was better, it's a shame McClelland got hurt, but he's a boxer and he wanted to go to war and lost.
