This jersey stuff was a bad idea to begin with. It was always a cultural litmus test on a contentious subject. Of course it was going to blow up.
Imagine asking players to wear a shirt with religious or political symbols, even if(or especially if) it was every one under the sun for sake of inclusion. There's no way everyone agree on everything on that list unless they're just going through the motions, and it's insulting to assume people to be so simple minded. Honestly the same goes for the other jerseys and slogan nights. It's too much.

The gay/queer community represents 3-4 % of the entire population…..statistical fact . Seniors represent 19% of the population, and have paid the freight to get society to where it is now. Some might argue that is not necessarily a great achievement. Nonetheless, I don’t see any practise jerseys with “ help a senior” logos. Just sayin’. There are many other groups that certainly deserve recognition. My point is that the gay/queer community simply receives a disproportionate amount of exposure and promotion. And yup, I’m a senior and have been a Canucks fan since they were in the old western hockey league.

Yes, my opinion just got better… love the kid. Appreciate his bravery in this situation…. I'm going to purchase a 96 Canucks, jersey next week. It would have been much easier to wear the jersey and take the pre game skate. I appreciate the personal integrity.

Pride Night isn't about politics it's about basic human rights and inclusion. Frankly I'm shocked by the comments here I thought we had a pretty decent group of people in the CCC family but sadly I was mistaken. As a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and former athlete this movement means everything to me and the future generation of athletes who won't have to suffer like I did with toxic bro culture and locker room shenanigans. Might have to rethink taking part in the meet up this Sunday after seeing some of you guys showing your true colours, bigotry isn't a good look btw

History has shown us that forcing people to wear symbols to illustrate their moral bonafides is a dangerous game. The ridiculous level of faux-outrage at someone not "complying" with the prevailing winds of the vocal minority should be the canary in the coal mine for free thinkers.

People wanting him traded, wishing him bad karma, calling him every foul name in the book…just because he won't bow down to the woke snowflakes….and has a mind of his own! Guess what? In saying that, Catholicism hath been corrupted by the devil.. (I’m not saying it’s all bad, just in part, that’s how slimy he is) They believe the mother of Christ is to be praised, and in that is to be worshiped. Yet in the Bible it clearly states there are to be no gods before me. This religion is wrong, not in totality, but in part, it has been deceived. Satan has been here a long time, he has a long time to work in this, he has its roots in the Catholic Church. Christians also have their worts, but it isn’t as deep as the Catholics. Jesus was brought here in a stable, in rags, died in rags. The Catholic society sees theme selves before God. They preach a priest, a man, confess to a man, for they are a portal to god. Wrong! We don’t need another person to talk to God. God is omnipresent. We can talk to him whenever. Further, wearing these over accentuated robes and trinkets. God does not value expensive robes, crosses or what have you. He lives in heaven, way beyond these earth things. So why all the get up. It’s really all self richnes. God is way beyond material things.
