From what I've seen, San Jose will take michkov. They are four year years away. And they seem to think it's a fit for them. I'm happy with Will Smith if they can get him. I've seen his highlights, he had some strong hockey sense.

I wouldn't want Kuznetzov in a hypothetical trade with Washington. I want the #8 and Hendrix Lapierre. Kuznetzov is 31 and he is trending down. The Habs would be better off signing a 24 year old Pierre Luc Dubois to be our #2 C.

According to the experts the difference between Bedard and michkov is the difference between Crosby and Ovechkin. If Michkov slides to 5 you HAVE to take a chance on him. Will Smith and all these second tier guys can be found, you can't find guys like Michkov, you draft them, and you need them to win it all.
If Michkov is available at 5 we need to take him. Lets gamble on Ovechkin jr. Although, we have to be careful not to draft too many scorers. Otherwise we will be the Toronto Maple Laughs.
Smith/Carlsson at 5 then trade down a couple spots to get a solid D man at 20-30. We stacked at D but the talented D that will go between 20-30 is undeniable in this draft. We take D at 20-30 range and that D will enable us to shop Harris/etc without really missing him
