  1. That is just criminal!
I don't want to meet such a person on the street. I am a big Canadian fan, not only in hockey, but I don't know what you think about such actions.

Imagine somebody tries to amputate your feet with a big knife.
I am not sure were you come from, but in most civilised countries, you get jailed for years if you do that on the street. There is no excuse that is hockey. A lifetime suspension should be no discussion. Such persons should be charged with a crime for such an action.
The IIHF and many hockey leagues have not arrived in the 21st century. Old systems and old processes. Why are there no video referees with the power to intervene!?
Furthermore, the player is a side product of the NHL which does not charge so many nasty actions.

If the Canadian team has any dignity, it suspends the player forever.

  2. that was the only highlights video that even showed the stomp, so props for actually showing it.

  3. That is exactly why nobody likes Canadian players. Superb players when the game is won, bht extremely insidous when a game is not going the way they want to (Vladimir Vůjtek could talk hours about that..) Brainless Veleno should be fined and suspended for the rest of the tournament.

  4. С 72 года наблюдаю игру канадцев.Они и тогда были подонками и мерзавцами,такие остались и сейчас.. А их Кларк самый большой подонок и мерзавец всех времен..

  5. Stomping on someone with your skate blade should be a penalty. Hopefully the IIHL suspends that player after the fact.

  6. Im Canadian but Veleno deserves to be banned from all future tournaments.

  7. There is so much to like about Joe Veleno. He's a hard-nosed workhorse that makes the players around him better. The fleet-footed center is unselfish and will primarily look to make a play at top speed; however, when the chance arises to put it in the pot himself, he will capitalize. He sees the ice well and is rarely caught out of position. His defensive game is refined and he actively pursues puck control. Transitioning to offence is natural, smooth, and quick. All-in-all, a well-rounded two-way forward that skates well and can be the catalyst a team needs to turn a game in its favor. If he can find the consistency in refusing to let himself get taken out of plays, especially if he doesn't start them, he will thrive and exceed expectations. (Curtis Joe, EP 2017)

This scout report aged well :DD

  8. That might be the dirtiest play I’ve seen in hockey. He should never be able to play IIHF again
