No, Moritz Seider isn’t one of the top scorers during this year’s SHL Playoffs. In fact, he’s far from it. Despite that fact though, he’s absolutely been dominating the competition for the Rögle BK, and it’s quite crazy how good he’s been.

The Detroit Red Wings certainly seem to have themselves a gem.

  1. Is seider ready? yes. Are the wings ready? no. Unless the wings are ready to give givanni smith a full time spot and sign another big guy, seider is gonna get targeted A LOT. This is a very small team that is desperate for players who will stand up for the team and are actually able to.

  2. Depending on draft position, they could add a bigger LHD to pair with Moritz.
Power, Edvinsson, or Hughes. I think it would take a lot of deliberation to consider RHD Clarke as they already have a stockpile on the farm (and Lindstrom). But who knows.

  3. The only reason he starts in the AHL next season is to delay his UFA. Like what Anaheim is doing with Zegras.
Interesting enough, if we do a re-draft, it is debatable if Zegras or Seider goes first.

  4. He already played great in the ahl last season. He would have dominated the shl last year if he played there. He's nhl ready. Now.

  5. Eric Gélinas, secondly can’t wait to see Seider where the Winged Wheel next season!

  6. The name zdeno chara comes to mind when I see Seider. Maybe slightly smaller, but seriously, has some offensive upside, but will shut you down at the end of the day. I'll throw out the Eric gelinas name, but seriously, can't wait to see Mo in the winged wheel.

  7. It’s scary how good he’s been. He’s not just playing good he’s dominating over there and tossing men around like their kids! It’s ridiculous!

  8. During the draft, I hoped that he would have fallen to #10 for the Canucks. While he was ranked lower, he was already playing competently against men as a teenager. Would have been a great partner for Quinn Hughes.

  9. Just remember David Rundblad….2010-11 Skellefteå AIK Elitserien 55 11 39 50 14 5 | Playoffs 18 3 7 10 20 5 – Draft +1
