I feel like I may be the only person in Edmonton who knew the Oilers weren't good enough to make it, especially with McDavid and Draisaitl being the ones doing 90% of the work.
However they do still have a lot of potential but their depth guys and middle 6 need to improve, as does their d and goaltending

This hurts me to say as an Oilers fan, but the formula is simple to defeat the Oilers in the playoffs. Don't take penalties, box Draisaitl and McDavid out and play hard around the net. If the Oilers don't get more grit, especially from 8.5 million defenseman like Nurse we are in trouble. Gotta show up for the full 60 each and every game and it seemed like every other game the Oilers were puck watching. Vegas coach made a couple adjustments after the Oilers scored 9 goals the first 2 games, players executed it well and dominated 5 on 5.
Glad to see Nic Hague and Zach Whitecloud getting some well deserved reckognition. Whitecloud has been an absolute beast all playoffs. To think that this guy was undrafted and is now signed long term to one of the best deals in the NHL is insane. I'd say that's the most honest and realistic podcast from Oilers fans that I've seen, props to you two.
You guy's are tough, but your analysis is very clear. Lot's of work to do for the Oiler's before they win a Stanley Cup!
Great video. Just came across this i love how unbiased you are. I personally have an unpopular opinion on how edm gets better and its to get a defensive minded coach. They have the right pieces they just need someone to instill defensive discipline. Im a knights fan and i was shocked to see a team leave their goalie so exposed. If they can tigten up that defense inthink they would be unstoppable.
