I think the 'Dubas Family' thing is a passive aggressive retort. Basically he got canned because he said he'd need to discuss any future with his family, and the Leafs took this as a sign he wasn't committed and tossed him.
So his response reiterates that of course any person should obviously discuss a huge career move with their spouse and that the Leafs' reaction to that was stupid.
