How about Kyper admits he put pressure on the Leafs by saying they would mope the floor with the Panthers, he is part of the problem in Toronto ffs.
Florida is an amazing team. They came back and beat Boston. Then beat the Leafs and now up 3-0 Vs Carolina. They peaked at the right time and caught a lot of teams off guard. I think they will win the Cup. Again media and fans need to view what happens realistically
If Mathews waits this out past July 1, even if he agrees to waive his NMC . the leafs are screwed, as most teams will have used their cap space by then. And trying to move him will be next to impossible, even at the deadline. This has Miskoka 5 2.0 written allover it.
I think it was said to the core, not only that but Dubas is gone because he wanted to move one of them. I don't think it was money it was the freedom to trade a big name.
The moment Paul Maurice ripped the Panthers a new one in that late season game against the leafs was the turning point in their season.
Florida came back on Boston from 3-1, they dominated Toronto and are up 3-0 on Carolina. Why are they not getting respect? I said to a few buddies back in March that if Florida gets in to that last spot they might be trouble. That said I didn't think they would beat Boston and I figured leafs would get by them based on fatigue and our speed so I didn't see this coming at this level. But come on they got hot at the right time, they got a hot goalie, they hit they have tons of speed,they win board battles. They were built for playoffs. Long series'. Leafs were not. I say we make some trades retool. Get experienced cosch maybe Quennville (if he's allowed to coach again or Tortorella and get tough. Kyle built a team on a misguided ideology. No team wins with four finesse forwards, that lack physicality—coupled with average defence and average goaltending. It’s never happened. Kyle was delusional.

AH, come on Kepper!! The Leafs lost to a team that beat Boston, is crushing the Canes and is now the odds-on favourite to win the Cup. If Florida had beaten the Leafs and was now down 3 -0 to the Canes. You might have had a point. No shame really in losing to the Cup champions.
The Leafs are not built for the physicality of the playoffs. One playoff series win in five years prove it.

The ducks are the best destination for the leafs. McTavish, Olen, Max Jones & Gibson + picks for Matthews would be a crazy haul.

Good, the players should be feeling nervous. The players are directly responsible for the canning of Kyle Dubas. They hung Dubas with their lack of heart and play during the playoffs. Who cares about the regular season. The playoffs are the only thing that counts.
Panthers have literally beat the 1st, 2nd & soon the 4th overall teams in the playoffs. They're shutdown style is ridiculous, and that goalie is a nightmare. They will win the cup.
Kyle never ever bothered to build the team on a modern template for success. He put is crazy ideology ahead of common sense. Only a fool thinks things finesse forwards alone could win a Cup. It’s not historically based on fact. It’s crazy.

Florida since being down 3-1 to Boston, have gone 10-1 with their only lose to the leafs. They are a win away from sweeping the canes, don't say the point difference because obviously Boston, Toronto and Carolina all crushed Florida points wise in the regular season. The panthers look like their going to win their first CUP.

i will be happy if matthews signs for 5 more years at 10,000,000… there is so much money to made outside of hockey in toronto… he can help the team be built around him… he can also solidify his spot potentially as the best leaf ever…. leafs are in good shape cap wise. can rebuild without losing him…. would trade tavares but it aint happening… so probably willie has to go in order to boost up their goal tending and defense. wouldnt hurt to let holl kerfoot and bunting go either if they can bring in a guy like bertuzzi.. team has options… its a good thing

Blow it up. The FOMO is real with management worrying about getting ripped off or worrying that these guys end up becoming great with another team. Maybe they do win somewhere else, but who cares? this core together is not gritty enough to win here and now. They eat too much salary in the forward position. Time to build the team right. We have decent goalies. Bolster the defense, find gritty forwards that will grind other teams down. Maybe keep one of the core guys, sign another less costly forward in free agency, or just wait and trade for some scoring before the deadline. Florida has shown that regular season does not matter. Leafs need players with heart and hustle, enough of this cutesy passing and ballerina moves. What a joke. Even if they miss the playoffs next year it doesn't matter. I'd rather they miss a playoff to rebuild and re-arm, than to keep limping into the playoffs and underachieving when the game gets physical.
