F1’s CEO Slams “Selfish” Drivers for Format Criticism 🌶️

F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has branded drivers as “selfish” over their negative opinions on the direction of changes being introduced to the sport. Despite declaring his relationship with Verstappen is “not a problem”, many drivers and fans have been critical for reasons affecting all stakeholders, not just the shareholders of Liberty Media.

  1. Alright guys and thanks for watching. Just to let you all know I'm traveling to Toronto tomorrow for a Call of Duty event (which I cover on the main TacticalRab channel and where I started on YouTube). It's going to be tricky to put out an F1 video every day as the event is quite hectic, but I do what I can to cover the Monaco GP. Failing that, I'll be back next Tuesday 30th ❤

  2. Saying the sprint causes the race to be boring is rubbish. Even with the normal 3 hour practice the race stays boring.

Over the past month of racing. The only exciting thing was from the sprint race between George and Max.

  3. as a longtime F1 viewer , i'm sick of all these "streetcircuits" … can we just return to classic tracks that were actually exciting ? i miss Malaysia and a German gp .

  4. F1 is run by clowns. You called driver's selfish for disagreeing with changes to the format that have got absolutely nothing to enhance the overall product, and at the same time you're saying that you've got to enhance the overall product so you don't end up with drivers going around in circles for their own benefit as well as the benefit of the engineers, but that's literally been the essence of this sport for decades. This sport is a joke. Pinnacle of motorsport my ass.

  5. Rules should change. Here is my version. 1) unlimited fuel but a limit to emission per race. 2) any engine configuration and size. limit on electrical output. 3) each driver must give up two races in the season to a rookie. 4) qualifying must be three sessions, one car from each team for session one, the other car from each team for session 2, top five from each session goes to the third and final session. that way you will never have more than ten cars on track. that will help in Monaco. 5) the cars must be made smaller. That's my ten cents worth. Oh and have the TV director to be some one that understands racing. Don't brake away and look at some's sad face in the pits when there is action on the track for crying out aloud.

  6. Since F1 is going to do more useless pre race driver introductions, please somebody be kind and let me know which races they do this so I can avoid the pre race shows for these races. I'm sure Las Vegas is 1 of them. Not sure of the others.

  7. The fact we’re still talking about a driver intro to the Miami GP shows how much “real F1 fans” just love to complain. If it was so bad, then why do you care about it so much??

  8. I say spice it up by throwing the Parc ferme rules out. There's no need for them anymore if the organization is really policing costs.

  9. Liam has won so many races in a lot of classes if I was him if stay away from F1 as why would he want to be put in a losing car or be treated like Perez . F1 isn't nice to drivers on so many level

  10. Street circuits are to hard to make overtakes on. The cars are to long and wide. The wheels and tires at 18in are to big. If in London, it will have to be around Docklands. For newer smoother roads. Real tracks are best for cars at this size.

  11. Max's comment on just having to survive the sprint is completely accurate. Sprints are a strange distraction from the main race. The new format is a step in the right direction, but still very disconnected from the GP.

  12. If I were max and lewis id do a joint drivers strike until Stefan deminicalo or whatever fuck his name is leaves

  13. Who cares about all the flash.
Let’s focus on racing because the racing is awful at the moment.

  14. I'm old. But I'd prefer having 2 practice sessions. 1 lap quali back. As for sprints, if there ain't no quality reward with it, there won't be good racing either. Sprint gives an advantage to top teams. Period. It wouldn't be very sportsman like to do. But if you want a show, I'd do 1 lap qualis on Saturday morning. That would be the starting grid order for Sunday. Now take that grid and invert it for the sprint race and double the available points and make it so that top 8 finishing places get points. Now your mid field teams will have something to fight for. And back markers will be visible for a few laps.

Again that'd be for the show more so than the sport.

  15. F1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has no interest in fans or drivers, I doubt he has a lot of interest in F1 itself, just selling out for new audience, by any means

  16. Dude you sounded like max or middle age man with a crisis
Whats wrong with trying new things and new tracks
Sprint even if boring is better than practice

  17. Just like with everything the only way to get F1 to listen to fans is for fans to boycott watching sprints. Street circuits are BS. 1 hour is not enough time to gather the data needed for races esp where for example, Bahrain, Jedah, Singapore. Night races, you need the second practice session to simulate true race/qualifying conditions. Drivers won't push it in sprints when the race on sunday is more important. Just utter nonsense. You could get away with the format on weekends with day time conditions only but not all the time either. And rather than 2 qualy sessions for 2 different races, one qualy should decide your starting position for both formats.

  18. Some changes here and there, hey, gotta roll with the punches.. constantly changing every last thing to pander to a bunch of morons whom only enjoy the sport because Netflix dumbed it down for them.. absolutely fking ridiculous. Taking away a driver's race preparation is absolutely appalling.. fk sake, what a joje

  19. Sprint races are fine except for the extra qualify. They need to just reverse the race qualify for the sprint. That gives everyone an incentive to try or not. If someone like Max qualifies in first for the race and starts the sprint in last and doesn't want to try, it's all good. There will be back markers in front trying hard to hold onto points making for an entertaining fight. If he wants to try, he might get extra points.
F2 has it right. F1 has to copy it. The sprints will be bangers.
As for US tracks, we don't need more. Cmon now… 3 races already there.

  20. Sport gets more popular has many new fans and viewers so lets f it up and change everything. See Nascar

  21. I think the fia should give the teams a second budget for the sprint races to cover any damage and increase the parts allocation throughout the season after taking into account the extra mileage thus extra wear and tear. Otherwise the championship will be negatively effected by the sprints and fans will get fed up with them. IMO.

  22. There is also the issue of the physical strain of many tracks, the fia needs to take this into consideration, we don’t want drivers getting hurt because either they or the mechanics are exhausted. Don’t let greed ruin this sport like it has all the American sports. It’s already limited the fan base by putting the races on pay to view only in many countries. Not everyone can afford sky sports these days, just saying!

  23. Domenicali's greed and ego is ruining the "sport". He needs to be fired immediately and replaced with someone who loves motor racing, not just money!

  24. Formula 1 is extraordinarily indebted to Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen for the 2021 season and the billions of dollars that season has garnered them in new fans, merchandise, tv, tickets and Ham and Max's fanbases becoming F1's version of Crips and Bloods. However, it does seem the FIA/F1 are trying to remind both Hamilton (jewelry ban) and Verstappen (outspokenness and driving style ban) about who really runs things.

  25. They need to focus more on making the races more entertaining. For example make the teams use 3 tires in a race and even bring back refueling I don't know something.

  26. Marko didn't bring Mick into alphatauri bc he's just not that good. Yeah he did great in f2 but time after time again he's crashed and caused problems with little to no improvement whatsoever except that one race where he was on the line at the British gp. I like mick I want him to do well but he's just doesn't have the drive it feels like. I mean a 30 comes in after not racing for two years and scores points before him come on dude.

  27. Summary:
1.Ricciardo still trying to get a seat, now realizing that he is getting old with new drivers stepping up every season. Even if he get a seat he will be an mentor for younger talent. Sad truth. Every race he is not in a seat, he is less likely to return, fate of many drivers. (Also on other news Lawson is having a great season)
    2. Ralf Schumacher being salty that Mick didn't get seat by just being named "Schumacher" from Marko Helmut.
    3. Domenicali: "MONEY… We love money!!!… Drivers should not be selfish and lazy, its for the money! cough ….for the people, yes…and entertainment!!!"
    4. Domenicali giving Toto Wolff final warning on "drive to survive" series viewer drop. "If mercedes can't improve they will find a new hero/main team for the series"

  28. Leta all be honest. More fans came to the sport in the last 5 years. Than been in the sport in total before that. GATEKEEPERS KEEP UP..

  29. Max will only leave f1 once he gets his 8th w.c to over take Hamilton. Even in 2028, he only has 6 w.c he will still keep going until 8 titles.

  30. It’s one thing when the drivers are complaining about the new regulations, but once the fan start complaining, you really know somethings wrong.

  31. Crystappen is going to boycott F1 and his terrible father is going to write a letter to them lol.

  32. My idea for a Sprint/GP weekend: two practice sessions, one qualification that is used for both the GP and sprint, however, for Sprint it’s reversed order. The sprint is a knockout race, last driver for each lap is eliminated starting on lap 3 or 4. Final lap will have 4 drivers left to fight for the win. Points awarded 1st through 12th to 15th place.

Purpose for qualification used for both is to prevent sandbagging for sprint race.

  33. Bro I’m going to need you to text me when you take days off. Your news is the only F1 news I trust and your consistently putting videos out daily and I haven’t got one for 5/22 when all the LH contract rumors are flying.
