  1. Mr. Shanahan needs to clean the house up and make ready for the next GM. Therefore he needs to run the draft after trading Mathews and Nylander for T J Brodie style of defensemen (4 more), top round draft picks, and huge cost savings ($20 million/year). $20 million will net 4 defensemen of T J Brodie's quality. If you cut 1 goal per game your team 1st play will produce 84 goals saved. I really like both players. Unfortunately Toronto can not win with this line up. It's a great entertaining show for 84 games and then zilch. If the guy wants to lead and attract the right GM then Shanahan is the only guy who is positioned right now to set the table. Don't let this crisis go to waste.

  2. You got what you hoped for Simmons. He's gone. Who's going to be better? Doug Wilson can't win a cup either you moron!!

  3. Simmons picks former San Jose GM who Also never won a Cup. Watta joke. Funny how after 5 years these bimbos NOW say maybe a solid GM with experience is the way to go? Your typical Monday Morning QB’s. Pridham is only there because he handles the money. Talked about Armstrong but McPhee would be better but both are currently employed.

  4. I'll be very surprised if Brad Treliving isn't the GM in the near future.

  5. Disagree. Keefe is complicit with how this team's performed. In fact, he's been out coached in the Columbus, Montreal, and now Florida series. Keefe is reactionary. For example, after game 1 it was obvious Keefe's plan was to have the forwards in deep pass back to the point and get the shot off. Maurice was well aware of this and Florida did an excellent job with hindering it. Keefe had no answer. Meh, so many examples of simply not good enough coaching. Good luck to Keefe, but he has to go.

  6. The Leafs need to add players with playoff intensity.Players who raise their game to a new level once the playoffs begin. Players like Brayden Point, Matthew Tkachuk,Sam Bennet and Sam Reinhart are players possessing playoff intensity. A Goalie with a .940 save percentage can cover up some liabilities but good luck finding a goalie of this caliber. The new Leaf GM needs to just tinker at first and not make wholesale changes right away. Changes made in haste could send the franchise back another five years.

  7. As long as Shanahan is around you will never be a playoff team. He was a Jughead here in Detroit years ago, still is not the sharpest tool in the shed. He actually said a few days ago it would be a nice skill set if the new gm is experienced. Lol total idiot

  8. guess all you want! . you might even have insight. who really fuc***king cares, this team sucks and the franchise itself should be run out of Canada after tar and feathering.. lets face it the fans are all not very bright and they just show up in the stands because TV that night is a rerun or its date night or somebody is making a sponsor deal. its the golf course for making deals for individuals who don't give a Rats a&& about hockey or the Maple Laughs in particular. Any idiot who takes what ever job this team offers in the near future is a bad story waiting to be told, only saving face is he / she will have a nice albeit short pay cheque. If offered any part of this franchise I would flatly refuse after a huge bout of laughter.

  9. Doesn’t matter. This team doesn’t have it. Nylander is the best of them on a consistent basis

  10. The GM should be someone from the trenches like retired hockey player or someone within the junior league with full of experience on team building.

Kyle Dubas was a poor example of a team builder. He consistently showed frustration towards the players.

  11. If rumors are to be believed, no legitimate experienced GM would ever want to work with Shanahan's thumb on their trigger finger. Rumors are rampant that Shanahan put the kybosh on several Dubas potential moves and Dubas, rightly (again, if the rumors are legit) wanted to be the Leafs GM all in, not an assistant GM under Shanahan.

    Jack ~'()'~

  12. Next Leaf GM – Don Cherry!!! OH! HO! BOOM!
Next coach "Scotty Bowman"!! OH! BOOM!

    Jack ~'()'~

  13. The next GM coming in must take it upon himself to do the job because he's the best one available to do the job. Hiring internally will not get the job done. They need to go outside the organization to get a proven successor.
