Arthur Kaliyev is a player who’s established himself as one of the best scorers and point producers of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. With that being established, why is it that he’s ranked so low in the first round by most scouting parties? I discuss that here in a video highlighting my concerns with the Hamilton Bulldogs forward.

THE most decisive prospect for this Draft is Kaliyev, he could honestly go almost anywhere in the 1st round, but he’s gonna be a fun player to watch in the NHL!
same was with brayden point, look him now, every aspect of game can improve ofc 🙂
Some of that description sounds a lot like Goldy to me. If Kaliyev is that high risk don't you think he will drop even further? Is it me or are Russian players getting less desirable?
If he goes to Tampa I’m done watching the NHL
Could just be me but him with a centre like Mcdavid, Eichel, someone who can really pass and set him up. Then maybe all he needs is his shot 🤷🏼♂️
Someone's reading Pronman.
Someone's been reading The Athletic 😉
If the Canucks can't draft top two, Byram, or whoever the top RHD is, then idk Kaliyev is a LW, could he and Petey be a good match?
I don't think the Canucks would draft kaliyev in high slot as they seem to target players who have a high compete level and who also have specific high character traits. Kaliyev would not fit into greens system and would probably be in his doghouse for a year. I think the Canucks would only take him in the 3rd/4th round or trade for him as a reclamation project down the line.
To me Kaliyev looks like a player of the likes of Patrick Laine. PP specialist, great shot and goal scoring, but lacks effort defensively and relies on having good teammates. He would fit well on a team with a terrible PP, like the Montreal Canadiens.
the wild need to drafting someone like him
Another Russian was the oilers #1 pick in Nail Yakipov, reminds me of him
That guy remind me of brett hull a pure goal scorer
I find kaliyev to be alot like Kessel but without the blazing speed. Kaliyev is a one dimensional scorer, weak in his own end but an absolute snipe show. He's streaky, doesn't drive the play much but more of a complementary winger.
Falls to the Kings in the 2nd round. Will have 2nd round expectations now.
"not the best scorer"? really ? Kaliyev scored more than 50 goals….Bias
awesome video, really hits on all the important stuff.
And now he’s playing the PK and doing it incredibly well. So much for poor work ethic.
I'm angry that the habs didn't draft him.
Looking like LA got a steal in the second round.
