Väntan är över – i natt svensk tid gick äntligen NHL-draften 2020 av stapeln och Lucas Raymond valdes som nummer fyra av Detroit Red Wings.
18-åringen från Göteborg är nu den högst rankade Frölundaspelaren någonsin efter Rasmus Dahlin (1:a 2018).

Big fan of Raymond, I had him at #2 on my list and would have even considered him #1. You can't teach that level of talent and intelligence with and without the puck. Very mature, learned the pro game last season and knows how to play and be successful for his team. He doesn't needlessly push the play offensively to put himself out of position, he plays to help his team all over the ice and win. Phenomenal prospect and I'm thrilled that he is in Detroit.
Get him to a 190 or 195 pound playing weight in a few years. He will probably be with GRG for the 2021-2022 season. I see things to work on are
Having a stronger base for puck battles/not getting toppled from the puck
Better passing % which is a must the smaller US rinks
More organized approach in defensive system awareness
His out of the blocks (first three steps) are unmatched, cruising speed could be increased.

I see how a lot of American and Canadian players get fat faces from trying to bulk up once they get to the NHL. Lucas stays perfect looking! Magical athlete!
