  1. Pavel Bure scored a goal just like the first clip, so no, we have seen players like this before. And he was Russian as well 😉

  2. 000-100 goals | 167 games
    100-200 goals | 129 games
    200-300 goals | 177 games
    300-400 goals | 161 games
    400-500 goals | 167 games
    500-600 goals | 189 games
    600-700 goals | 154 games
    700-800 goals | 161 games

    800 goals in 1305 games

  3. No question he's already the greatest goal scorer ever. If you consider the eras these guys played in I'd comfortably put Howe and Jagr also above Gretsky in terms of pure goal scoring

  4. Best goal scorer of all time, also best power forward of all time. But there will be another Ovie one day. But he may not stand out as much. Every season that goes by the talent gets better. Every season that goes by talent stands out less, because there's more talent. There will be someone better than Ovie in his prime, but he may be amongst others who can compete with Ovie in his prime as well. One of the things that made Gretzky so special. He was far more talented than his time and stood out so much. Nowadays Gretzky would be just another really solid player, but he at his best wouldn't be able to put up the numbers he did.

There are a ton of young players right now idolizing Ovie. Wanting to be fast and powerful and shoot rockets. One of them will grow up and take Ovie's crown. It's the natural human order. But no doubt 8 the great will always be Ovechkin.

  5. Just curious, why is no one brings up Mike Bossy, or Mario Lemieux when talking about the best goal scorer of all time?
Bossy had 573 goals in 752 GP (0.762 GPG) (9 Seasons straight with 50 Goals)
    Lemieux 690 G in 915 GP (0.754 GPG)
Ovechkin 800 G in 1308 GP (0.612 GPG) (9 Seasons total with 50 Goals, longest consecutive streak 3 seasons)
    Gretzky 894 G in 1487 GP (0.601 GPG) (9 Seasons with Oilers, 583 G in 696 GP for 0.837 GPG)

  6. Dude your channel is really helping me thru a tough time dealing with sudden jealousy issues in my relationship, helps me escape my mind and the scenarios it builds up. It's nice to listen to your videos about the sport I'm passionate about. God I hope this passes soon

  7. Without a doubt the best goal scorer of all time he played in one of the biggest goal scoring droughts in league history and still is only 100 away no one else has come close to what he has

  8. Calling Gretzky a better goalscorer than Alex is ridiculous. Ovi played in an era with like 50% less goals scored on average. Wayne scored against goalies playing standing up, 10 feet from the crease.
Hockey after 00 should have it's own records, not the same game.

  9. Like you said, he just passed Howe tonight with an empty netter!

  10. Aston Matthews was live on the game where Ovi scored that famous goal in front of Gretzky

  11. Alexander ovechkin is 100% the best. Ove is my fav NHL player and he is going to pass Wayne Gretzky and I believe this all because I am wearing a custom Washington capitals jersey with the number 8 I believe that Ove is the best in history and that we will never see anything like him ever in the rest of hockey history! Like ESPN said “The golden hour is now” there will never be any players ever again as good as they are now.

  12. If we had to find a worthy runner-up to Ovi's best NHL goal ever, I want to make his 180 degree spin top-right corner snipe from distance his second best. Sniped past Price of all goalies.

  13. There was this guy a long time ago – I think his name was Gretsky. They used to call him the great one. Some real hockey fans with a knowledge of historical records and hockey – they say he was the greatest goal scorer. maybe you ought to look him up before you anoint Ove as the greatest goal scorer.

  14. Yea he hasnt caught Gretzky yet, but keep in mind that he is about 83 goals away atm, and he has had career shortened due to 2 lockouts and covid. If it wasnt for those happening, he would be probably around 880-890 goals rn if he wouldnt have passed Gretzky already at this point.

  15. Even now I still do not believe that Ovi will beat Gretzky record.
It is possible only if Ovi will play another 5 seasons.

  16. HE's the GOAT. HE's great to phenomenal at everything save for faceoffs and goaltending. He can backcheck, forecheck, hit, block shots, pass, and most importantly, shoot. He's the greatest player to ever play the game and I'm glad he inspired a generation of kids to put the puck in the net.
