Should the Canucks trade the 11th overall pick?

Donnie and Rick chat about a report from Scott Powers in Chicago speculating on a possible Canucks and Blackhawks trade involving the 11th overall pick and a bad contract.

  1. Miller for 19th overall, Chicago's 2nd, and their 4th.

Canucks get basically 2 mid-1st rounders and a 3rd rounder and Bedard has a center to play with.

  2. Canucklehead fans are delusional. The 19th isn't that much worse than the 11th. If you want to get rid of bad contracts you're not getting more than 1 2nd if even that!!

  3. Never happen in a million years Donnie. Not much in the draft after 15.Yea maybe 1 or 2 suprises later in draft but chances are vancouver wont draft them.Ive said it a million times this club is handcuffed for 3 more years so work the draft till then

  4. Maybe they shouldn’t have won all of those meaningless games down the stretch and the discussion wouldn’t be moving down.

  5. I think this could be a last miniute decision based on who is left at 11 . If top 2 dmen are available they will use the pic

  6. David Reinbacher's stocks seem to have fallen. He would be a steady RHD to partner with Quinn Hughes, but I don't think he will fall to the 19th, maybe around 15th or so… maybe if they can trade down a few spots so they can still pick up Reinbacher, but still manage to rid one bad contract, would be considered a win for me.

  7. Boeser is not a bad contract and Myers has 1 year left.
Garland is the only one and I'd rather wait a year since we can't do much yet anyway. I would also buyout OEL either now or in 1 year.

  8. I was preparing for Team Rutherford to trade away our remaining 1st round draft pick the moment they traded away the other one for an injured defenceman. The Canucks are 5 players short of a full roster and already over the cap. Even Benning didn't put the team in salary cap hell as badly as this new management group has. All those assistant to the assistant GMs didn't exactly knock it out of the park this season.

  9. For the love of god no. We are ranked 28th in prospects for reason. We constantly trade draft picks.

  10. Myers isnt worth dropping in the draft for. The canucks arent winning the cup next year and hes only got 1 year left.

  11. They should've kept both their 2 first rounders and maybe trade both of them to move up to maybe 2nd or 3rd pick. Or throw Garland in and try for the 1st overall.

  12. I love how the Canucks don’t want to “rebuild” because they don’t want to foster a “losing culture.”Do you think the Blackhawks care right about that shi$ right now while they get ready for Bedard and shine their 3 cups?

  13. If you’re 28th in the league in prospects, you don’t accumulate draft picks, you trade them away. Don’t you know anything?

  14. They should draft a defenseman and if none are available trade for one with it. Attach it to some money and another prospect and try and get a fair deal.

  15. In any other year, Donnie's idea would make sense.

In this deep draft year, where the 11th pick could yield a player which could be a top 6 rated prospect in any other year, you hang on to that pick.

  16. If there’s any sanity we wait this cap situation out another year. Myers and beau alone free up 10m, one less year on oel boeser etc… let’s all pray oel can find his game again. I really fear they are going to get desperate again and spend way too much trying to dig out of these contracts. Only patience can fix what impatience created…

  17. Bold moves? Trading away all your #1s is crazy , they will be bad or mid tier forever- this team every bold move blows up
