Sampo Ranta, the Colorado Avalanche 3rd Round pick out of the University of Minnesota, signed a two year contract with MoDo of the Swedish Hockey League, leaving the Avalanche with one less prospect in their already think prospect pool.
While Ranta struggled to get his pro career, and even his AHL career, off the ground, this came as a surprise to many as he could have been a player given an opportunity when training camp came around next season. It does not mean his career with the Avalanche is officially over, as they still hold his rights and can welcome him back after his contract with MoDo is over, but it does cause us to ask if it might be.

Kyle is what we would call a low grader in the assessment industry. He just knows the lower end of the rubrics.
…you don't know Modo? It was Forsberg's team before he came to Quebec and he was their AGM for a while not that long ago.
For a team as well built into a contender as this team has been, the inability to draft and develop outside of the top 10 is super odd.
Lehky is easily A+, im kind of confused as to what type player you guys think Lehky is, the fact that he was a 4th liner on Montréals SCF team and was brought in as a defensive depth piece and is now a 60 point guy and still plays near selke level defense is insane. Hes not a play driver, never will be. Burky was a play driver
