The 2023 NHL draft is about 5 weeks away, so today I gave my take on the upcoming event. We all know Connor Bedard is going number 1, but what about the rest of the first round? This NHL Mock Draft is my first attempt at a mock draft and what I consider a “rough draft.” I’ll do a more in depth and full first round mock draft when we get closer to the 2023 NHL Draft.

Nice mock draft! As an habs fan im excited to see who we get. Id like Michkov because he's a beast. If not its okay we get Smith. Hes looking really good and i think he got the abilities to be a Superstar! Imagine Suzuki and Smith at center

Michkov said he's comming over unless they block him after his dad died suspiciously trying to get his contract non legitimate. His dad was found dead.

I hope winnipeg gets 2 1sts,take either Danielson,Yager,Heidt with 1st, and 2nd pick take Dragicevic or Gulyayev
I also see Airizona taking Benson with first pick and a defenceman like Sandin-Pellikka or Reinbacher with 12th pick. Geekie and Benson play together with winnipeg ice,and scouts will have seen him alot.

As a sharks fan, I'd be thrilled with Michkov. He was clearly #2 until his last KHL contract nerfed his value. Sharks need a top line player and him showing up in 3 years is kinda perfect for this team

Given the Coyotes needs, why wouldn't they take the top 2 defensive prospects if you have them reaching for Reinbacher at 6? Two top line Defensemen balances their system. If they reach for one, why not get the two best defensive players in the draft?
Wings are my favorite also. I think yzerman is going to shock a lot of people and take Tom willander right handed dman at 9. He plays for rogle which we know yzerman loves them developing players as they have done seider wallinder Kasper and neiderbach. Willander is rising up the boards and some mocks in top 15 now. I like the fit but I wouldn't take him at 9 but yzerman don't care what anyone thinks lol then yzerman will use 17 41 42 and 43 to address offense whether trade or draft picks.
I feel bad for Michkov. I can see a scenario where the Russian government puts a halt to him coming over. Recent developments involving US vehicles in an offensive on Russian soil are troubling. If you're a GM in a draft full of star potential, it'll take guts to pull the trigger.
