  1. New team next year Alvin's team splash Draft this year Miller or Boeser maybe Trade Horvat poolman Myers oel retained a sweetner or something

  2. If I were Benning I would’ve just offered the first for Garland and not taken on the OEL deal or I would’ve asked for a 50% salary retention on his contract

  3. The Canucks need: BU goalie, TWD man, DFD man, Re-tool the de-core, PK specialist,
The Canucks need to trade/let go: Myers, OEL, Boeser, Halak,
If they do that and do it well, they can be a actual decently contending team obviously it is easier said then done Allvin bring us to the promise land plz🙏

  4. If the Canucks get rid of boeser or miller and Oilers end up getting Kuzmenko do you think Vancouver will go after Evander Kane? Cause Oilers definitely won't be able to afford him
i don't think but it would be something to look into if ur Allvin should look into something the Canucks definitely lack and if Kane did that I think he would take a home town discount this team can still be good in the now and in the future he's still a point per game guy he can't really replace a J.T Miller but it's actually smart strategy and i know some fans might not like him but it's just his game that makes him valuable if they can get him for what J.T Miller is making atm and poor demko won't be so vulnerable bein pushed around in net.

But then again kane's reputation proceeds him some fans and the owners don't like it but it's really something to think of no matter the reputation I'd rather win in the now and in the future with whatever we get for J.T or Boeser and Kane's like the only name I can think of knowingly most likely not getting him but that's someting I only can imagine.

  5. The only time "anything can happen in the playoffs" applies was when the LA Kings beat President's trophy Canucks in 5 games in the 1st round (2012). They were not expected to make it through the 1st round and yet they won the cup despite being an 8th seeded team.

  6. Hey Lego. First-time commenter. I'm in my mid-50s and have seen it all. First game 1975. We have had maybe 3 teams that were good enough to contend for the cup in my opinion. 2004. 2010. 2011. That's it. I'm being generous with the 2004 team. (Colorado and the Red Wings were both better) since our cup run, we have made so many bad decisions with management and coaches. Linden- mistake Benning mistake. Willi D huge mistake. dude sucked. Really the only good thing we have done is drafting ( Hughes Pettersen Pods ) But all he did was capitalized on others above us drafting poorly. Psst, I almost quit being a fan when they didn't draft Tkachuk. Keith was one of my favs back in the day and look at Matthew now. When they traded Schnider as well. When I watch Colorado and Tampa and Florida and Carolina and realize we are not even close. All I want is to see 1 cup b4 I die.
    We need cap space.
we need 3 better Dmen at least
we need better wingers, at least 2 or 3
Unfortunately, to do it properly we need to trade both Boser and Miller to get cap space ( Unless someone wants OEL and Poolman. The OEL contract will screw us for years) I doubt that anyone wants him. The dude is way too slow.
We will take a step back and be a bottom team for 2 years
Then 2 years as a bubble team
Then we might be able to contend but we will have to retain EP40 and Hughes.
    we are screwed

  7. The last time we traded for a good player (imo) and got rid of them by the end of the season (toffoli) the next season was a bust.

I am tired of seeing the canucks trade for a good player like miller, who becomes arguably the best on the team. Only to trade them for basically nothing.
Miller might have good trade value right now… but will we actually get the quality we need in return?

  8. the goal should ALWAYS be: BUILD A LONG-TERM STANLEY CUP FAVORITE. lets make the playoffs and see what happens should only be a seasonal goal with a strong caveat applied that it is only sought after without hurting the main goal.
Enough of : lets win a playoff series, maybe making the finals , maybe even winning a cup, and then being terrible a few years afterwards and going through another rebuild. Even when we were good under Gillis , the team still mortgaged the future for the now.

IMO: look for young prospects already in development. No more retirement contracts.

  9. Mock trades:

To Canucks: Scott Morrow, Noel Gunler & a 2023 5th round pick.

    To Hurricanes: Brock Boeser.

    Mock trade 2:

To Canucks: Anton Lundell, Patric Hornqvist, Grigori Denisenko & a 2022 3rd round pick.

    To Panthers: JT Miller.

    Additions: Subtractions:

    Anton Lundell JT Miller
    Scott Morrow Brock Boeser
    Noel Gunler
    Grigori Denisenko
    Patric Hornqvist
    2022 3rd pick
    2023 5th pick

  10. I agree, OEL and Garland cost more than 12 mil per. For those kind of numbers we could have 2 of each of them when you look at their production. Hopefully both of them will feel more at home next year. Trading Miller and Boeser is the way to go, get good young assets and prospects and build your team around Petey, Hughes, Demko and Horvat

  11. Everyone who said this at 8:00 was called a "fake fan" or "too negative" when the trade happened. And look what happened

  12. I think that they will trade away some cap problems such as Pearson, Dickinson. (I’m keeping myers out of this because there is no way he will get traded he’s too expensive for a team to pay) and something to do with Miller at the draft, such as picking up a first? And prospect? Maybe

  13. Honestly I think if we can keep our current core the way it is for a few seasons we're likely to have the best seasons we've had since 2011.
I wouldnt be surprised if we traded OEL and Boeser, as they're really not performing for what they're being paid, and I think we can get better performance for less. (But OEL has a no-movement clause doesn't he? I saw that on a contracts site.)
Miller, Pettersson, Horvat, Chiasson, Podkolzin, Hughes, Garland, and Demko are incredibly strong (and I'm confident in Martin, he really impressed in his few games), and with some help on D (even if we keep OEL) they will be a force to be reckoned with. I'd rather try to create a contending team out of this core in the coming few years, rather than trading away Miller, the player that was integral to 40% of our goals. He makes everyone around him better. Losing him would set us back several years, regardless of who we replace him with.

  14. Trading Miller is a huge mistake imo…the only thing you are doing is getting rid of your best player in hopes for a more balanced team…That is just a gamble; yes young players could be Stars in the Long run, but what if they are not? You have a star right now…
Build around Miller, traid Boeser (hate to see him go) and maybe a few others and there you go.

  15. I think starting next season we need to move on from the Benning and Green show.
I was watching the canucks vs flames on Saturday, when it dawned on me that Benning helped set up rival Calgary for success. This totally breaks the GM code as it’s just wrong! Let me explain.
The Calgary Canucks are not a joke but at this point but a reality. The Canucks 2015 trade that sent a Canucks 2nd round pick for Sven Bartschi ended up being Rasmus Anderson who ended up being a Flames top 4 D man. Then theres Bennings 2020 free agency fiasco where he let all UFAS walk because he was too busy renovating his cottage. Also the fact Benning traded top assets for Tofolli and only to let him walk. I realize because the emergence of Demko that Markstrom would leave.
By letting both Tanev and Tofolli walk and have them both end up in Calgary is Benning fault! The fact that Benning help the flames get 2 good defence man while he’s forced to sign tucker pool man because of his procrastination and inaction during free agency shows you how unqualified he was as
    an NHL GM!
I’m starting to think that Benning might have been on the Flames payroll.

  16. Miller’s had a great year but the team won’t be able to afford his next contract so trade him for the amazing amount of assets he is going to bring,I think Brock is another good player that is going to be too expensive and will bring a very good amount of assets to the team

  17. The analytics being almost bang on do not necessary make them right though, IMHO. Had Green stayed longer, or had Bruce been brought in sooner, I think these numbers would go out the window – the difference in coaching made that much of a difference this year for the Canucks. It was more a coincidence that the timing of the firing shaped the Canucks season to make it end up being like what was predicted.

With that said, I think some big changes are coming. I would be very interested to see what Allvin can do to shred some of the big contracts on the D core – OEL, Myers, Poolman are financially not sound (OEL is still a good player, but his age, his production do not match the needs of the team). Up front, I see both Miller and Boeser being dealt.

  18. It's crazy that Canucks fans still think that the Canucks can make the playoffs Dallas needs one point in the standings and has 3 games to get it. The canucks need to Win all three remaining games. Be honest sure we would love for it to happen but in reality we know that the odds are against this happening.
