Friedman on 32TP talking Canes tendency not to overpay players: “I have to think when it comes to Aho and Staal, there will be room to bend a little bit more because they are such huge parts of the team. Staal, he’s not a signing that’s going to break the bank, but Aho will be”.

To help put the Aho conversation into context. Many believe that 10M would be “breaking the bank” for him.
We all know his value and what he brings to the table. He’s certainly earned a raise of that caliber.
I think Jordo is going to understand him saving will enable Aho to get his bump and probably same for pesce.
I’d guess Aho comes in at 10 and Jordo drops down to 3-3.5M for his deal. Giving us some cap flexibility even with Aho’s new deal
As a Canucks fan as well, I’ve seen Benning overpay for players for so many years. And it’s refreshing to see a GM putting their foot down to play players what they’re worth and not a penny more.
