A few days ago, the NHL announced their finalists for the Jim Gregory General Manager of the Year Award. Unfortunately, Tom Fitzgerald was not named a finalist. Despite the NHL not giving him much deserved recognition, I decided to dedicate an episode highlighting his brilliant moves so far. I know it only has been one successful season, but the New Jersey Devils seemed to have found their foundation. If they continue their success, while continuing to demonstrate improvement, they might become the NHL’s next dynasty. A good amount of players seemed to have been rather confident.

Not with the current goaltending and defense
I absolutely hate dynasty talk when a team hasn't won anything yet. I remember Larry Brooks put out an article on the NY Post suggesting the Rangers could be a dynasty when they won the draft lottery to get Lafreniere. That's gonna look ridiculous. I do believe this core can win a Cup though as long as we can get Bratt and Meier signed to a reasonable number and Nemec and Hughes don't turn into the defenseman versions of Kakko and Lafreniere.
I rather we would of kept Zetterland than Holtz. Maybe Holtz just needs time
Dynasty days are over. When the Devils get their next Cup, Fitz will get the recognition.
Can’t be called a dynasty until you win the cup first
They can if they can figure out how to get past the Canes and what will likely be stiff competition from the Panthers and rising Atlantic Division powers Buffalo and Ottawa. Not to mention who may emerge from the West.
That's why deciding what to do with Bratt, Meier and the goaltending situation will be crucial for Tom Fitzgerald and the rest of the front office in the coming weeks.
Bratt needs to get tied to the net and the boys can shoot at him like they did to Goldberg.
Who's to say the Devils weren't drafting the best player when drafting Nemec, they drafted off their scouts rankings not Craig Button (or whoever else's) rankings.
Tampa isn't a dynasty, you need to win 3 cups in 4 years to earn a dynastic title.
That being said yes I could see this team doing it but it's WAY to early for that talk. We need to win at least once before that.
