As of this game, the Los Angeles Kings have won 13 of their last 15 playoff games, including all 9 out of their 9 road games (an NHL record). They are one win away from tying the NHL record for total postseason road victories.
It’s debatable whether Brodeur would have stopped the shot had he kept his pad down (just before the shot, he raises his pad in anticipation of a high shot but Kopitar shoots it low). Had he kept his pad on the ice, Kopitar may well have raised the puck. Only Kopitar knows what he would have done. One thing we know for sure is that he must not be feeling too bad about getting his first glimpses of winning the Stanley Cup.
