The physicality of the panthers is the difference look at the teams they played Boston ,Toronto ,Carolina no team could match it we will see if Vegas can if not they will lose to .Team s look scared to for check against them.
Should have traded Pasta. He is not abig time player and could have gotten a boatload for him. Now they're stuck with that contract
I just SMH with Florida. At some point their road winning and OT streaks have to end.
I like Cassidy and hope he lifts the Cup.
And nobody is saying anything about how easy Bertuzzi can re sign with Detroit, so not only do we lose draft picks but the player we traded for goes plays with the draft picks we traded him for.
There is NOTHING Don Sweeney can do. The Bruins always do well in the regular season and they always choke in the playoffs. The player change. The coaches change. But, the Bruins always choke. The only reason that they won in 2011 is because the Canucks are the only team in the NHL that is a bigger choker than the Bruins. As a long time Bruins fan, I have given up on this team.
Would Debrusk and Gryz get you a first?
The Bruins only have $5M in Cap Space which won't be enough to even just re-sign Frederic and Swayman (let alone anyone else). They only have 7 forwards signed with no 1C or 2C on the big club, anywhere to be found in their putrid farm system nor the money to sign a 1C or 2C. They have the NHL's worst Draft Capital situation with no 1st again until 2015, no 2nd again until 2016 and only 3 draft picks, in the top 3 rounds of the next 3 NHL Drafts COMBINED. They have one of the NHL's worst Farm Systems which has been universally ranked 28th-32nd for the last 5+ years. In other words the prospect pipeline not only sucks, with the NHL's worst draft capital for the next two to three years it's only going to get worse. The Bruins should be moving anyone without a full NTC (Hall Coyle Zacha Carlo Hall Debrusk Grzelyck Forbort Reilly Ullmark) and go to the 3 players that have full NTCs and inquire if they would waive them (Pastrnak Marchand Lindholm). Debrusk Griz Forbort and Reilly only have one year left on their deals. Moving them is a no-brainer. Ullmark has stunk in the playoffs the past two years, he's injury prone and the Bruins not only have Swayman, they have Bussi, Dipietro, Svedeback, Dyck and Keyser behind him. The Bruins aren't going to trade Swayman McAvoy Pasta Lindholm Marchand or Carlo. I just don't see those players getting moved. However, every other player, should be on the block. Why? The Bruins have no core anymore. The 2011 run is O.V.A. The only way any NHL team can build a new core is through the draft, developing young talent and with the salary cap. The Bruins have no cap. The Bruins have one of the NHL's worst farm systems. The Bruins have the NHL's worst draft capital. So the Bruins lack all 3 things that are needed to build a new core. So it's either crawl to a #6-#8 see and a few more early playoff round exits until Marchand is complete toast, Pasta is north of 30th, they win nothing and the Farm System rots away even further. Or they could just accept their fate that their rebuild has to begin now. They've only won more than one playoff round ONCE since 2015 while this core of players has also gotten older and choked every year in the post season in one way or the other. No Cap. No draft picks. Crap farm system. No 1C. No 2C. Only 7 forwards signed for 23-24. Just accept the friggin rebuild already so the Bruins can have a new core and maybe be competitive again before 2040
Could be wrong on this but I hate trading Hall just to get cap room. To do what exactly? I'd rather roll the dice with one of our prospects in the top nine than jump through hoops getting rid of his contract just so you can resign Bertuzzi to a similar one or worse some middling veteran center or three 4th liners.
