  1. I think it really rubbed Shanahan badly when Dubas said. The most important thing for me is to speak to everyone, first and foremost my family. With this kind of privilege of a job of course your family will not have dad at the dinner table every day. That said. He still has time for his family. Bing the GM isn’t like being in a concentration camp. Dubas probably learned a lot after his bone head press conference. He shouldn’t get another offer this upcoming season, up he very well might.

  2. Done with the Leafs. Been a fan for 58 years, will be burning my jerseys and officially switching allegiances to whichever team has the privilege of hiring Dubas. F Shanahan!!

  3. You haven't won a cup since 67, you haven't even made it to a conference final since 2002. You're not prestiges, you'll keep failing as long as you think you are and that you're owed something because you're the leafs.

  4. It was a mistake to fire Dubas. Keefe is now likely 9:28 on the chopping block. Cries to break up the so-called "core-four" contnue unabated. As far as I am concerned, Shanahan needs to take some responsibility for all the failures of the team. I do have respect for Dubas to take his family into consideration. The latest rumors are Mark Hunter is coming in as GM, Keefe will get axed and Hunter will hire his own coach, and Marner and Nylander are going to get traded.

  5. Think the Yankees have about 10 WS titles since the last time the leafs won the cup. Market and money sure but not success

  6. Leafs tried "analytical genius whiz kid" already. It's time for an old school hockey eye-test guy

  7. In a word, NO!

Dubas gave all the signals of a guy who wasn’t 100% committed to the role. This is the biggest job in the NHL (Montreal GM may be equal or real close 2nd) and requires that the person in that role be fully and completely committed to the team. If there is any doubt whatsoever, then the occupant of that position has to go. Shanny had no choice.

  8. Great hockey mind who nobody is expecting: Sean Avery

When I saw the clip of him correctly predicting a shit kicking by Florida it sold me

  9. Why is Dubas so good? He was gifted Matthews, Nylander, Marner and Tavares and he still couldn't make it work. Any idiot would have had a 'record breaking regular seasons' with that line up.

  10. Everyone misread the Dubas press conference Monday except for Brendon Shanahan. Dubas was emotionally raw from the loss (proven by his emotional outbursts during the series). And when you feel isolated and alone against the world in failure, you naturally will manifest that emotion by appealling to your family who will always stand by you and uncondionally "love" you. By envoking his family to give himself emotional cover it revealed that he's self centered and weak. Not a Father or Partner that truly cares for his Family by protecting them. It's been proven by Shanni's press conference Kyle, as suspected, cares about Kyle first of all. If he does care about his family he could have stepped down and taken a different lower profile Job to spend more quality time with his loved ones. Instead he leverages the whole thing to negotiate better terms for a new contract. Time to step up Mr. Dubas and be the Father and Husband who protects his family, not your fragile ego!! It was that presser that convinced Shanni to cut him loose. Why? Not because Shanni thought Dubas wasn't committed to the Leafs – no, it was because Kyle made himself out to be a "victim" hiding behind the family thing and used it as leverage to get more. How unprofessional!! Shanni saw it as did Kelly Hrudey on HNIC refferring to the events. They couldn't just come out and say it!!

  11. Ryan O’Reilly did jack squat in the playoffs. If he was brought in as a playoff performer and didn’t perform when needed most then how was that a good trade?

  12. Even though I like Kyle Dubas, I have to agree with you guys, and, especially that it's looking more and more that, even if it's True about The Family Thing, Finals was Using It As More Of A Bargaining Chip. Even More So, it's going to look bad, if He, even needing a job, He Takes A Position (with Pittsburgh as A President/GM, especially) now, following His Statement That He Can't See Himself Going Anywhere Else. Let me know what you think

  13. Even though I like Both Of The Guys (Shanahan & Dubas), I've got to Side With Shanny. He's had to Make A Decision, so it was A Decision that Had To Be Made. I also think that Shanny Brilliantly Turned The Tables On Dubas, by thinking that, if He Was Going To Get Rid Of Dubas, This Was The Best Time To Do Its And Not Look Like The Bad Guy. Please let me know what you think and if you agree.

  14. I don’t see anyone really bringing this point up and it is important: Dubas never once mentioned he wanted to negotiate his contract, he just said he wasn’t sure if he wanted to be back. That’s a deliberate omission. He didn’t say he wasn’t happy with the offer. He said nothing at all. So it was a selective omission. And of course he shouldn’t have been saying those things to media while negotiating a contract. That is the ridiculous part for me.

  15. Dubas wimped out then asked for more money and power..f him…get out…good work shanny

  16. I'd go with Brad Treeliving as GM, even though He Doesn't Have A Stanley Cup under His Belt. If you want to go with A Person That Has Stanley Cups, then You Try To Get Toronto Stan Bowman (if you don't say that The Kyle Beach Incident, in Chicago, is forgivable or if the Media Issues won't be A Problem – I'm only talking of Success, even though I have An Issue, as A Chicago Fan, in Quennville And He Obtaining Positions In The NHL).

  17. I think that, aside from all that has gone on, Kyle Dubas was moving towards getting The Toronto Maple Leafs What All The Fans Want, A Stanley Cup. I think that He was Changing The Bottom 6, To Help After The Regular Season, given the fact that Top Lines are Usually Played Hard Against By The Opposition. Let me know what you think

  18. Good show boys, Leafs nation needs to stick together through this shit show, it’ll be worth it in the end

  19. There’s no doubt, that, in direct response to the title of the episode, and question, that the Leafs did NOT make a mistake by cutting Dubas loose but DID make a mistake by not waiting, until after the Leafs had played their last game of this season, to offer him a new contract.

  20. Actually, the New York Rangers are by far the biggest market and make the most money in the NHL, and most years Montreal is 2nd.

  21. You can't really blame Dubas for wanting more autonomy, cuz why are you hiring him as GM if there are gunna be all these individuals you have to answer to? Obviously can't just go unchecked, but there should be some reasoning as to why you gave him the job if someome else is able to question it all.

  22. very attractive !?!
    looking forward to 2035
    welcome to shanahan hell
    corporate: bad coach, no gm

  23. Shanahan tried "Power Over" Dubas if you do well, we will talk about a contract. Dubas had to protect his family, and he started looking for jobs. If you were in a company and your boss said the same thing, you would be looking for jobs the next day.

  24. Shanny felt threatened by Dubas…The best way to protect your job …is to FIRE the man who might take over .!!! Done ..!!
