Get rid of the trapezoid from behind the goal, allow goaltenders to handle the puck more, and you’ll see passing of the puck by the goalies improve, because it will be focused on more in development and practice.
as an all-star its cool not to try and put on a good show.
hey @nhl, if you want to expand on your US rating, why not give them an exciting product. the events are fine, its your players. THEY DONT TRY. it makes it boring, they think they're putting on a good show for the kids, but a 3 on 0 and you just shoot the puck. come on…..

I know that the NHL skills competition is mostly for the general fans who probably don’t know too much about hockey. You know: kids, people from Florida, etc.
Yet it is very difficult for me to reason that even your average fans could glean very much from excitement from watching a bunch of world class players— people who’ve honed their craft over the course of a lifetime, and who have the skills to prove it—mostly stand around watching goalies try to make a basic shot and mostly miss, while, intermittently, skaters go in on 1,2, &, 3 on 0’s…..rarely bothering to even try enough to score.
It seems to me that when the skills competition was actually about making a show to the fans of the incredible skills the players have, it was just about what it should be, and it was great.
Where’s the meat in this?!
I get that the players want to take it easy so no one gets hurt, etc. but if they’re going to take it this easy, why do it???
