No Byram, no Marner… Landy is gone for at least a season, have Marner 2yrs with an MTC could be damaging to the Avs core. Marner cap hit is $11m, $4m more for what Landy's is if does come back. Beside Byram is the future to a Markar pairing, cap hit is so high. However Nylander for Girard @ $5m for 4 yrs or Toews with one year. Dubas putting NTC in the final year of their contract might fear a lot of teams unless the team can seek a possible extension first. if not just wait until Free Agency like everyone else. As for Nylander NTC, if he doesn't sign, Avs are looking to move out a contract to keep either a Toews-Byram or Girard-Byram. A Marner trade won't make this possible. Marner trade to the KIngs would make sense, for good depth piece. LA has a ton of talent young players waiting their turn, Kempe and Byfield are great pieces that would help the Leafs forward depth. Kempe would give size, scoring and better pk then Marner would, Byfield would give the leaf a heavy fore check and scoring up the middle, Nylander and Tavares would be asked to close up the slack left with Marner leaving. Both have term and NTC. $4m left over can go towards O'Reilly or a Dumba

If you think Newhook, Byram and Lehkonen would fetch Marner youre insane. If the Avs want Marner, they are parting with Rantanen to do it
