Hugues and Gorton should be all over this for the right price. Hart has been tremendous his first few years in the league, and then mediocre on bad Flyers team. Remember, he is still 24 years old. Most starters in the league are 27+, and goaltending is a need for
    Montreal’s rebuild

Realistically, what do you guys think it would take to grab him?

This is interesting, obviously wouldn’t want to overpay but I doubt Hughes would do that anyway.

Scoop him up as long as the pricetag isn’t exorbitant. Definitely need to keep cooking tendies until a true heir emerges (no shade to Monty I just believe in throwing as many darts at the board as we can)

Idk why but I’m kind of glad we didn’t hire Briere.

I think they ask for at least a 1st or else they just won’t bother

    FLA’s 1st + Barron + Armia + 4th ???

Edit: Allen has to get dumped somewhere, so he might have to be included in this deal

they should trade him to get their picks back so they can offer sheet Cole for 11M

Isn’t Hart like their best player and is very young? Also their other goalie is very bad looking at the numbers. Probably just a bait from Brière to give attention to the flyers… Also he’s at less than 4 millions on cap hit. If they trade him for draft picks, this will probably be similar to what Chicago did with Kirby Dach. I mean florida’s first + Allen for Hart so we can keep Monty or maybe a second round instead of the florida first and it sounds great to me. Sounds like a classic “our goalie sucks and it’s why we lose” when it’s really “our team sucks which is why the goalie stats are bad” .

I’ve been saying this kid should be our target for a year or two now.

Honestly I’m not sure I see why Habs should sacrifice anything to get another project goalie on the team. Monty/Allen tandem is decent enough for our current expectations and Monty keeps showing progression in his play. Best case scenario he becomes a decent starter once the team reaches playoff status and we can develop our next starter with him.

  11. I’d pay a premium for him. There’s 50 middle 6 prospects on this team, we can afford to add some to whichever deal we are offering

  12. Hart is grossly overrated.

Simply put: Habs don’t need him; and don’t need to waste any of the assets it’d take to get him. We need help everywhere but in net.

Goaltending is far from an issue for us, and chasing the “next Price” is a fool’s errand.

A team like TOR or PIT or NJ should chase him way before we do

Last year I might’ve said they should go for it but I’m genuinely optimistic for Monty. World Champion Monty now. So it’s a pass for me.

I dunno. From what I’ve read so far, Sam Montembeault did a terrific job at the IIHF at the moment.

If he brings this momentum at the beginning of the season, the team is pretty solid.

Let’s hope Kent Hughes gets a promising gk next draft (Hrabal, Augustine?).

    Flyers are open for business

Hart is only available because of the 2018 HC scandal. I wouldn’t touch him with a 10″ pole.

FYI Hart has one season left at $4mil then RFA
