Maybe Cole just asked is agent something like ”Get me the best short term deal possible so i can get much more later when the cap is higher” while Kent want to sign him up long term.
Cole himself might not be aware how the negotiation is going.
GM have way more pressure to sign player quickly and work on other things during the summer. Agent can just play the waiting game.
