Team Rivalries are part of what makes the NHL So entertaining. The hate between some of these teams goes all the way back to when the NHL was just starting out and has been growing ever since. Here are some of the most HEATED NHL rivalries between NHL teams.

Also the panthers lightning
Devils-Rangers is about to heat up again for at least the next decade! its gona get good!!
they went to america during the great depression and surprised it didnt work out lol
How about St. Louis and Chicago?
How about the Rangers vs the Islanders? Or the Rangers vs Jersey?
Yes definitely. Sequel video please
How about the Canadiens vs Nordiques rivalry?
Ehrm, Rangers/Islanders anyone?
Montreal, Toronto, and Ottawa is kinda 1 big rivalry between the 3 teams being so close to eachother and all in the same division
I would not put the sens and leafs on here over any of the honourable mentions.
Toronto and Ottawa was barely a rivalry; it was more of a free pass for the Leafs. It was great watching Sundin show up and Alfredsson slowly disappear. The only time anyone ever noticed Alfredsson in the playoffs is when he short the puck at Scott Niedermayer.
Explain to me how Penguins-Flyers isn't on here. The sheer hatred there isn't reserved for hockey, it extends to everything and anything even remotely related to each other's cities.
Maurice Richard did NOT get suspended for striking Hal Laycoe. He was suspended for striking an official.
calgary and edmonton have had a 70 year sports rivalry in both hockey and football
If only he knew that mere hours after posting this, Brad Marchand would absolutely beat the stuffing out of Rem Pitlick after a dirty hit on Patrice Bergeron, further cementing the Bruins-Canadiens rivalry
Detroit / Avs.. honorable mention.. someone hasn't watched hockey pre-2020.
Bruh you covered the Bruins vs Canadiens rivalry without mentioning Chara hospitalising Pacioretty? brutal.
Bruh Avalanche vs Red Wings is literally insanity. You gave that an honorable mention?!? Look up Fight Night At the Joe and you will see a true rivalry
Is it going to be Toronto Montreal because I think most fans of both teams would agree that's our biggest rivalries.
Born in 1960 Boston the Canadians were not liked here, but it's ironic because many bruins were Canadians back then, I played in Canadian cities in the 70's and we stayed with families that treated us very well, so even though it's a hockey thing, the players and families always respected each other, but in a bruins/Canadian game all bets were off.
One of these days Ottawa Senators will eventually beat Toronto Maple Leafs in the playoffs, time will tell
The bruins have an uncanny ability to make other franchises riot.
part 2
How did the Canadiens/Maple Leafs, the Battle of Alberta and the Red Wings/ Avalanche rivalries not make it into part 1? I get that the most of the rivalries covered exist from the early days of the NHL, but these 3 are definitely more 'heated' than most of those you cover.
As a Calgary fan The Battle of Alberta but all time Boston vs Montreal will always be a classic.
Props to this guy for explaining the difference between the old Ottawa Senators and the new Senators (1992 expansion team). Too many idiots think they're the same team because the 1992 expansion team took the name.
The Battle of Alberta is bigger than any of the featured rivalries . It's worth more than an 'honourable mention'!!
Avs and wings was the only reason I clicked on the video. Shocked it wasn’t here. Maybe you’re super young? I feel like anyone in the 90s wild have said it instantly
How did Pittsburgh and Philadelphia not make it?
bro forgot about oilers and flames, leafs and habs, avalanche and wings, penguins and flyers, leafs and bruins
Richard was suspended for striking an NHL official.
Do people really care about the supposed rivalry between Ottawa and Toronto?
Where is the battle of pensylvania
