According the NHL rulebook, rule 41.5, a game misconduct is imposed when a major penalty is imposed for a foul, resulting in an injury to the face or head of the opponent.
Isn't that exactly the case here? With him banging his head on the glass and quite possibly getting a concussion.
The hypocrisy of the caps commentators never ceases to amaze me. When tom Wilson does this, Laughlin takes up for him even if he decapitates an infant in the process

Terrible call! Definitely a penalty, but not 5 minutes! NHL rule book even clarifies this is not a 5 minute penalty.
