Mike Van Ryn and Players talk Western Conference Title (Postgame 04/13/18)



In just the team’s second season, tonight’s victory officially clinched the Roadrunners as the AHL’s Western Conference regular season champions. The club will now have home ice advantage through the first three rounds of the playoffs.
Also in tonight’s win, the team locked up the I-8 Border Cup, the rivalry trophy for the series against San Diego, in its first year of existence.
With an assist on Dysin Mayo’s first period goal, Lawson Crouse made it seven straight games with a point for Tucson.
Mario Kempe was the star of the evening, scoring once in the second and also the game-winning goal with just three minutes remaining in the third period.
Goaltender Adin Hill picked up the win in net for Tucson, stopping 24 of 26.
