Dallas lost in the 2020 Final and now lose the 2023 Western Conference Final. They are close, so it’s on Jim Nill to figure out how to get this team a championship.

Didn't see Marchment mentioned. He seems lost most of the time, Stankoven can come up and take Marchments place imo. Also what's going on with Suters contract? Hate to see us loose Dadonov and Domi but if Domi wants to go back to the Hawks and play with Bedard who can blame him.
I'm not very familiar with how hockey contracts work, how they decide pricing and all the in betweens?? What did you mean when you mentioned Robertsons contract was theft?? Thanks!
Minnesota dumped Parise and Suter
Frankly I was surprised we made it to the CF. For all the hype, Oetter just played his first complete season, and I complained to my closest hockey friends since December they needed to rest him more… but they didn't, and it showed up in all 3 rounds. He is very young and he will certainly learn from this and get even more hungry. But I think he had a disappointing playoffs. He wasn't moving very well laterally, plus his high glove side became a wellspring of goals for opposing teams. I am sure he knows what he needs to work on, and i trust he will do that, so next year could be the year. Kudos to the Stars for such a fantastic season. It really was impressive in spite of elimination!
Seguin was a ghost in these playoffs and that contract… YIKES
Pretty sure otter said he had multiple small injuries during the playoffs .
I think they should resign Domi and trade Benn. Although I’d say they wanna give there young guys a chance and Domi may have to go to free up a spot for the young guys, particularly Stankoven. They also need a legit backup, Quick would be a good fit there imo
PROUDLY ONE OF THE TEN!!!
My two cents
1. Otter overplayed in regular season. I thought I saw one mention somewhere that he played (not started) in 41 of last 45 in regular season. Not sure how accurate that is, but it sure seemed to be so with Wedgie hurt a lot near the end.
2. Blue line is the weakness here. It helps that they brought Harley up near the end of the year and that it looks like he played himself to a role next year, and of course Miro is Miro. Hanley is good for the price, but shouldn't play more than half the games. Is the Lundqvist trade a bust? I hope they give him another shot. The rest? Best I can say is that they are good at killing penalties. Buy out Suter. Too early to see if Bichsel can make the leap, but other than that all I saw were warm bodies in CP.
3. Time to bring up Bourque, Blumel, Stankoven… see if they can shine. As bottom sixers Kivi looked good, so did Olof, and Ty epitomizes that group. But, they can mix/match here very easily with what they have in Big D and in CP without really having to sign anyone. Won't be getting rid of Benn/Seguin unfortunately.
Like I said… two cents 😁
I don’t think Miro is overrated but he definitely isn’t better then Dahlin like most Dallas fans were saying last year, Dahlin went 1st overall for a reason. It’s a team sport, Dahlin is a beast and will tear it up in the playoffs when given the chance
Robertson was absolutely invisible in the Seattle series.
So many boneheaded comments saying buy out Suter. Cause yeah, thats how Stars win the cup. Buying him out and eating dead cap space that they can't afford. So they cant pay players that they need and end up losing the talent that makes this team good. Get real.
A more realistic answer is bumping him down to second or third pairing and giving him less minutes, either he accepts a trade where he may get more minutes or he just plays out his remaining two years at 3.6mil. Keeping in mind that he doesnt play horribly considering how much he earns.
I just think they ought to bolster the defense.
There is no escaping Seguin and Benn.
When you give a player a NMC you can still buy them out.
When you combine front-loading with big signing bonuses, you can still trade them.
When you give a player all 3 you're cutting your own throat.
That is crazy about Robertson's contract … I'm glad I got his jersey first, cause they need to know our boy needs to get paid better.
This team should have made every effort to acquire Patrick Kane at the trade deadline.
I don't know how much the success of minor league teams have on the NHL club, but Dallas had two minor league teams go deep into their playoffs this year. I hope that means that there are some candidates from those teams that can fill come rolster spots and maybe a 4th line trio. I wonder if they will try to move Suter in the off season or if he is a UFA.
Pavelski is a freak of nature. What a gamer. Admiring him (and Thornton tbf) as a young player had me cheering for the sharks from Michigan
Was hoping Pavelski and the Stars would've pulled through to beat the Golden Knights (Pavelski's revenge will come) but I guess it wasn't meant to be. Good luck to them this offseason, hopefully they are back to the playoffs next year.
How do you fix this team? You strip Benn of the C, and do whatever else. He needs to go.
Maybe in '24 Carolina v Dallas in battle for Lord Stanley! Could dream Hockey Guy! I'm still waiting for a Vancouver & Buffalo final!
