  1. I got to witness Cale's very first NHL goal a playoff goal. It was Beautiful 🏒 And now Stanley Cup Champion 🏆

  2. Easy to be an excellent drafter in hindsight. Nick Lidstrom was passed by every team twice before he was drafted.

  3. Dumb question but how did he get to college hockey? I know you see it with Jack Hughes and others but just seems like top 10 picks go play in the minor leagues and not college. Did the Avalanche just use UMass as his minor league development?

  4. NBA basketball teams usually draft guys in their 20's. Easier evaluation. NHL drafts guys 18. Those are critical 2 years. The NHL has several solid players that were never drafted and signed as free agents. Maybe they passed on a guy 5" 10" and 180 pounds. 2 years later the guy is 6' 2" 215 lbs. Big enough to push guys around and also stick around.

  5. As an old-school guy from the 70's and 80's who's literally talked Hockey in person with Bobby Orr– you'll often hear guys from my generation not give credit to any of the younger players. But this kid is for real… A generational player. His vision of the moving chess pieces, his ability to keep his head up while stick handling, and his Hockey IQ. Just a special special player.

  6. All 6 Flyers draft team ppl wanted Makar, GM hextall went over their heads and took Patrick, great move by twice fired Hexy.

  7. Hextall picked Patrick because he himself had ties from his junior career to Brandon. Patrick could very well be the worst pick in Flyers history. Then they turn around and possibly make the worst trade in Flyers history by getting Ellis.
