*LEAFS TRADE KASPERI KAPANEN TO THE PITTSBURGH PENGUINS!!!* (August 25th, 2020)

The Leafs make their 1st trade of many as they move Kasperi Kapanen, Pontus Aberg and Jesper Lindgren to the Pittsburgh Penguins in exchange for their 2020 1st Round Pick, Filip Hallander, Evan Rodrigues and David Warsofsky. What are your thoughts on this deal???

  1. Kid, You're spot on in every fashion! Nice rant. I'm a Pittsburgh and know the Leafs roster very well and you hit the nails on the head.

  2. Trade willy and bump kappy up beside tavares and leave him there. More cap space. Bigger chip to get a dman back. You dont lose much on the wing either.

  3. The leafs has no grit guys anymore…. Kapanen was the only one left with a little bit of grit and now he is gone…. Don't these guys watch playoff games to understand the core concept of the game during the crucial time…………

  4. Could the leafs select Justin Barron? Only issue is that he’s been injured a bit. Right handed d man tho👀

  5. I actually think the trade is even kappy is worth what we got for him on the leafs he is a thirdliner but on most nhl teams he is a 2nd or first liner i also beleaf that there might be a package of nylander and the first or johnsson and the 1st for a young top pairing d man coming back with term. I also see Anderson being felt for a goalie and a middle pack d man happening to I see the leafs as a team that will run tandom goaltending from now till Woll is ready to make the jump to the NHL.
Kerfoot is not going anywhere but I do see johnsson on the trade block because kerfoot is more versatile then johnnson being able to play center and wing and johnsson is to small to play in the top line the leafs will be using large pool of offence talent to trade for what the team needs to get over the hump the plan has always been mass as much offensive talent and find out what core needs to get over the hump and this is the off-season to execute the plan now let's see if dubas can finish the shannaplan

  6. Campbell 975k, Engvall 375k, Holl 1.325m & Muzzin 1.63m contract upgrades of about
    -$4,355,000 against cap
    +$12,000,000 saved cap
    Kappy/Evan 3.200, Barrie 2.750, Ceci Clifford 4.500 .800k? Malgin750k?
    Total
    $7,645,000 leftover

  7. To my knowledge, the ML are not a team in reconstruction, they are or want to be a contender. That being said , any move they do should improve their team immediately not in the future. Taking out Kapanen for money definitely makes the leafs less competitive, now replacing him with current players is shuffling the deck nothing else. I think Pittsburgh just improved their chances by getting Kapanen. Stop obsessing with the cap, their is plenty of ways to make room for a A List Defensemen and a sniper on the team. Useless trade in my opinion for the leafs.

  8. Leafs need more dogs on the team…i doubt that happens with Dubas. I don't care about hockey IQ..they got enough of that.
