The stupid comment about jumping on someone's back is just plain dumb. He was trying to stop Wilson from keep hitting his teammate is not like he attacked Wilson. Wilson just reacted like the brute that he is.
What mind boggling to me is the 5k fine was for the punch to Buchnevich. Nothing because of the Panarin incident. If Panarin cracked his head on the ice and was seriously hurt, would Wilson have been suspended? I would think so. So if what Wilson did suspendable or not? The NHL is grossly ambiguous with so many rules, but when it comes to player safety, and potentially life threatening actions, you can't be this gray, must be more conservative and cautious, or please get hurt. Protect your players. NHL is a joke.

The unfortunate thing about Wilson is that he’s actually a decent player but he will mostly be remembered as someone who played the game dirty with little respect from the league.

The way I see it is that if you want to try and take an advantage with small speedy skill players that’s fine, but don’t cry when bigger guys kick there ass and use their advantage. Tom Wilson is using is skills to nullify the speedsters

I remember watching the Crosby draft where The Canucks passed on Kopitar (WWWHHHHYYYYY?!?!?!?!?) and dropping my head in DISAPPOINTMENT … He was there, and I was anticipating what I thought was the obvious choice, then: Luc Bourdon… (Whatever Bourdon may have become had tragedy not hit, I don't think ANYONE could imagine he'd have had a career like Kopitar's). Vancouver was SOOOO lucky when some teams picked 'surprises' ahead of The Canuck's 10th pick (the likes of Jack Skille and Brian Lee and even Benoit Pouliot and Devin Setoguchi … ) We'd watched Kopitar play in international Championships where he was amazing! What DIDN'T The Canucks management see? (I guess the same thing the GM's who drafter Skille, Lee, et al). Anyway … that was such a "one that got away" moment for The Canucks franchise; what a difference he'd have made playing 2nd line to The Sedins at the height of both their careers.
PS: The GM? None other than Skipper Brian Burke's Lil-Buddy, Dave Nonis. Saw this note: At 37-years-old, he became the youngest general manager in team history. (Really? Well, he was certainly showing off his inexperience at THAT draft!)
Wilson is a repeat offender. Has ended lubomir visnovski’s career but no one knows ab it bc it He only got a minor penalty w no suspension or fine and it was a playoff game and lubo was a top 4 d man for the isles and it cost them series. He’s gotta be suspended indefinitely from the nhl. The guy is a menace and a disgrace to the sport of hockey. George parros has to be a caps fan or something. He didn’t want to suspend Wilson for the hit on Carlo earlier this year either until bruins management called and said Carlo had brain damage and he still only got 7 games while Carlo was out for over half the season. It’s ridiculous

He was merely pushing the guy who was already going down while lightly punching his back which happens all the time in hockey.
Also Panarin got hurt because he got into a scuffle with Wilson and lost balance while Wilson pushed him down to the ice.

If Tom Wilson dragged that guy down, punched his face in without gloves, scrapes his face with his skates while putting Panarin down and scarping his face against the sharp ice along with his skates then you people can continue cry like a bunch of schoolgirls.
I agree the body slam of Panarin was over the line and that you don’t punch a player when he’s down but at the same time why don’t you call out Crosby when he does that same thing? He did it to Konecny on Tuesday and to Subban in the Cup Final in 2017, both instances with multiple blows to the head. Again I’m not defending Wilson’s actions but seems an awful lot like people are basing their reactions off of a name

It already ended someone's career. Steve Moore was almost murdered by a dirty play just like Wilson did to Buchnevich. Wilson needs to be banned from the NHL. We can't wait.
