I like how you think that you could throw together a team of athletes in non-handball sports and actually play decently in the olympics 😀 Handball is an incredible competitive sport on the global stage. It's played by professionals that start training from the age of 7.
There are only 32 starting QBs in the NFL. Every single one of those men are more athletic than the most athletic/talented handball player in the world. If the United States best athletes competed in these no money making sports, they would still dominate.

Billy definitely got the feeling of handball but to be honest he is far from mastering it. His defence needs A LOT of work in attack his moves are very predictable. His movement isn’t half bad it’s very nice but again when going into what we call “jump-shoot” his leg is too awkward, it would be harder for him to score if there was actually a real handball goalie. The tournament was basically just for fun because for 1 they were outside on grass when the sport is played inside on wooden floor. The court is one time longer than what they had. They didn’t have any tricks to create easier passing and so on but for his first time playing…it wasn’t half bad. Good job Billy (coming from a handball goalie who plays for more than 6 years)

Hi Billy, I'm a German and i ask you one question(don't know if you will ever read this): Is there ANY sport whereyou only need to be a good athlete? In my oppinion it is ALWAYS that you need to play the game, no matter which game, and athleticism makes you competitive
And i have to disagree with your words "You have to be an dick". I was a goalie for 20 years, and I can imagine that you think, you have to be a dick. In real handball, in the US it's called team handball, you would be a living training method for your teammates. Because they would have to play with one guy less on their team, after you beeing suspended so often. The rules regulate this, and you would be suspended because of your defense very often

why are you playing handball on the grass??? It's indoor sport like basketball. And btw just compare this video with European handball video, you'll see how bad everyone here looks. Even that coach, I mean if we want to learn American Football we would bring american coach to teach us not just random european guy who read books about it and saw few videos.

Men's World Championship in Handball starts tomorrow, January 11th. USA will facing Croatia in their second game of the group stage on the 15th of Jan. Let's see how they manage against a European opponent, a team that ended up 15th in the last World Championship. A country with a population of about 330 mil people have a great potential but, let's see how it develops in the years to come. Great sport if you watch the real thing and not "this thing", whatever the Americans believe it is, in the video above. Bless them!

That Olympian is talking out of his ass. Take the Danish national team, while it is true that it is one of the best teams. The individual players are also some of the best and they play in some of the biggest leagues and clubs all around Europe. MIkkel Hansen has for instance been named the best player in the world 3 times. You need both, both the best team, and the best players.
In Denmark its the second biggest sport after soccer. Team USA is getting good.
But you will lose today paying Denmark the Best Handball team in the world.

Speed, physicality, and no protective gear beyond optional mouth guard. That is handball in a nutshell vs. other sports.
As long as US national team has severe losing record in every tournament and no college/uni scholarships in handball –> I don't see handball winning popularity in the USA. Despite being physical and fast and loud – and an indoor sport.
Playing in Germany is a completely different Deal ….this doesnt look right at all 😃😄😄 there is literally no physicality , no Ball movement , super slow …..getting cards or penalties over here is difficult…you really gotta smack somebody.

why did they play it on grass? you can't play handball decently on grass…. it's like trying to play table tennis with sponge rackets…. the ball doesn't bounce as it should! though… I guess it hurts less when you fall or are thrown on the ground

Don't play handball on grass – that's something we did in the 90's as children in Denmark during the summertime, and it didn't work then either… It's supposed to be played indoor – I would have loved seeing him playing against Scandinavians…
