In this video Matt goes over the past decade of the Buffalo Sabres franchise, which was nothing short of a letdown. Many issues are highlighted, a lot having to do with owners Terry and Kim Pegula’s decisions. At the end suggestions are given on how to improve the Sabres team, and what they need to do to get out of the basement of the NHL.

Now Eichel wants out while requiring neck surgery to fix his current injury. And since this is the Sabres there is a division between him and the front office on the type of surgery that needs to be done. Definitely not helping his trade value coming off a bad season.
Can you make a new video now that Eichel will inevitably be traded before the start of the season and they traded away some of the corner stones for more picks that they won’t do anything with
Watch the recent video post from Roam Hockey. The Sabres were a .460 win % team throughout the 2010s (the 2 tanks seasons are included). The Sabres are 13th in win % in the NHL since their inception.

The Pegulas bought the Buffalo Bills and they managed to get that organization going i. What i would say was a much more difficult allbeit different situation. The NHL is not the NFL. But they both are top 4 pro sports and the pegulas have a stake in both as well. The NFL is inherently more difficult to win because rhere are less games and less playoff spots. The Bills had also been on a much longer playoff drought ghan the Sabres and having to face New England twice a year were in a much worse spot than the sabres.
The diiference may be that they admittingly know nothing about football and have given brandon beane full control of the team whereas with the Sabres Terry claimed to be a huge fan his whole life of the team as well as the sport? Perhaps they are too involvrd with the team because the Bills are clearly doing things the Sabres are not and that was not ghe case in buffalo for a ling time.
The Sabres had the president cup team and long playoff runs in the 2000s while the Bills toiled in mediocrity while only occasionally getting humiliated by but always losing to the Patriots for almost 15 years. And the Pegulas turned that arou d as owners. But they have failed miserably in the NHL and its actually gotten worse since they bought the bills. But as a fan and resident of the city its hard to hste them for one while loving them for the other…you just hope that the lessons learned by one's success will eventually improve the other.
But no better example of the dichotomy is this offseason the bills sign qb Josh Allen to a long term deal after getting to the afc championships. Meanwhile on the sabres Jack Eichel is publicly demanding to be traded after yet another year in last place and were likely to get very little of his true value in return because of how badly weve managed the deal.
They thought evander kane was a bad influence on eichel as kane had taken him under his wing so to speak when he got to buffalo. Prior to eichel had lived with matt moulson and his family. Kane obviously had a bad rep and took some heat for the fact that eichel was an dis just an asshole. It was no ones influence. Hes been treated like a god his entire life and was when he arrived and throughout. So we that and because he likely wasnt going to sign a long term deal here we moved kane for next to nothing and have been unable to replace him since.
Then Oreilly "lost his love for the game" because the team had been divided. You were either eichels guy or oreilleys guy and there were alot more eichel guys. Who wants to be around that petty gossipy passive aggressive bs? Not O'Reilly. So he asked out. I dont think eichel asked for him to be traded but eichel still had a heavy hand in his wanting to be traded. Then he did similiar things with Housley and Bylsma. I think he liked kruger and kevyn adams blew that dhit up. Krueger was letting the players run practices and design powerplays. So they liked him but then adams came in and lost his mind over it. Eichel then lost some of his power when adams took over and he didnt like it and here we are. Jack demanding something be done again in the most passive aggressive manner possible. I bet bylsma housley and oreilley are drinkin a beer somewhere gettin a good laugh at captain jack and the sabres.
As our care-loving Yinzer, "UrinatingTree" once said that, "The Sabres are the NHL version of the Cleveland Browns."

The Sabres, Canucks and Sharks should play an annual Disappointment Cup Tournament.
2 years later, Adams might be one of the better GM's since Darcy who was the Sabres best. Eichel and the toxic culture is off the team through some good trades, Tage is a beast this year and showing why he was worth it. Skinner has found his groove again, the guys are starting to play like a team again which is why the 90's were so good
The Sabres problem I feel is no consistency. For sixteen years they had consistency with Lindy Ruff and Darcy Regier. After those two left, that franchise has been a dumpster fire with so many GM and coaching changes.
Since Lindy Ruff was let go as their coach, I believe they have had six head coaches and are already on their third GM. That is not good for consistency. I personally would like to see the Sabres competitive because I feel that city definitely deserves it.
I think another problem with the Sabres is that the Pegulas have committed all of their resources to the NFL's Bills. Maybe it would be in the best interest for the Pegulas to just sell the Sabres and cut their losses there so they can truly focus on the Bills……And get some real hockey people in running the Sabres. Or the Sabres will truly become the Pittsburgh Pirates of the NHL.

The Buffalo Sabres should have NEVER abandoned / returned to use there old colors and logo.
The logo and colors of 1996-2006 with the angry Bison and the Black/White/Red was the best ever the franchise have had. Also the franchise had had most sucsess during that era as well compared to current/old of Blue/White/Yellow who represents all franchise failures. There current jerseys are so darn boring and bland.
They keep on sucking. The Pegulas have no idea what they are doing.

Trading Eichel the opposite of screwed best thing that ever happened to this franchise. Tuch looking like a better player and leader than Eichel.
And pegulas “friends and family” Kevyn Adam’s is a genius and not a mistake hiring.
