I am pretty happy. You said it, its a gamble. But I think Turk and McPhee see guys like Shea being part of the core of the future for the franchise. It could blow up in our faces, but if it pays our, OOOO boy look out. He has the potential to be a 7m defensemen, then we got a steal!
compared to the 1.5 mio 1 year that Sbisa got it is too expensive. Sbisa is 28 and in his prime.
It's a bigger contract than I thought he'd get, but I'm just glad he's back. We're going to need him with Schmidt being out for 20 games.

Theodores career is over
I hope Theodore does well. I have some speculation what McPhee is doing. He signs these people with big contracts and if they don’t do well than the expansion draft is just around the corner. They can get traded to Seattle and have them pay for the hefty salaries. Smart move.

His playoff stats were solid the last two years thats what counts. I think vegas got a real good deal here.
If Theodore can continue what he's doing in Vegas, it'll be a steal, if Theodore falls off then it's a steal for him, however this deal still won't ball break the Knights if Theo stays good for at least a little while

Isn't the 8 year contract option only available to the team that drafts the player?
He is 22 and this contract will take him through 29. Coincidently he put up 29 pts last season. The deals for 5.2 mil per season(cap). Id say good deal. But we shall see how he develops. After 3 years will know for sure.

He isn’t worth it right now but shows signs of being worth it. Shea has it in him to be one of the best in the NHL.
I think this is a steal. Watching Theodore play all last year here in Vegas he will be one of the top defenseman in the league for years. What a steal at 5.2 a year!

The magic of the Vegas team last year was the fact that they were a bunch of disgruntled players who wanted to stick it to their former teams. Now these guys are getting money like everyone else I wonder how much this is going to effect their drive. That reason no longer exists.
Nobody is criticizing George McPhee. Everyone seems happy. I haven't heard any complaints

Well this was a complete win for McPhee
As of 2021, Theodore is becoming a legit #1 defenseman in the league. He’s not as flashy as Hedman or anything, but wow, at that price, he’s a massive steal for Vegas. He’s only going to get better and I’m rooting for him all the way.
