March 11th, 1996: The Canadiens close the Montreal Forum in style by defeating the Dallas Stars 4-1. The game is followed by a ceremony that sees each former Montreal captain pass a torch to the next in line, ending with a handoff to Pierre Turgeon. The loudest cheers are for Maurice Richard, who receives an ovation that lasts nearly 10 minutes.

Damn so emotional. Love it. Montreal always does it the best. Too much history we have. 👌🙌👏🔥
Tried, but my eyes started getting misty around the 4 min. mark. GHG
Amazing moment in Montreal and sports history!
The modest of gods, the greatest player of his time and the tears for all that have gone before him. Bon chance Mon ami
A special moment for the Rocket to last a lifetime. Oh, to pack a stadium again!
Went from pissing on opposing teams in the forum to having the forum pissed on by the nomads
no. it is not on a loop
From a dynasty to a lottery team under Bergevin. These clips of the legends are all we have to hang onto.
I’m a hard core Toronto Maple Leaf fan but i still have respect for the Montreal Canadians and their great team history!✌️
His brother Henri doesn’t look too happy.
From what I heard, Maurice was exceptionally humble about his fame, and always thought of himself as "just a hockey player." I like that you can see he's slowly realising just HOW importanmt he was and finally accepts the praise.
