  1. The Oilers Orange Cruah jerseys were/are my favourite. Really sad about the blues and especially with how dark everything is getting. Orange Crush was by far the best. đŸ„Č

  2. European hockey fan here, hi. The debate about suspensions and punishments and penalties could take an hour, I find it really fascinating… but my whole takeaway from it is: if the "american" mentality doesn't change, the punishment won't. Hear me out. I'm not saying european hockey players dont play dirty/cheat, etc, BUT the mentality and state of mind is. For example, you can hear it in the way the american sports commentators talk about it during games (ooh, he will not let that slide / he will snap, hahaha / what an aggressive play, he should be careful, someone will retaliate). Or another example: there are a thousand compilations videos on YT alone of "foul plays", "hard plays", "most gruesome injuries", etc, as if it was something fascinating. We dont have the same "enthusiasm" about it in Europe (not saying at all, but definitely in a smaller degree). It's hard to put it into words. Basically, players playing dirty is a part of NHL, if the play was more regulated, it would lose some of its appeal to some fans. However much it sucks for the players themselves. But I definitely understand that I'm looking at it from the outside and might be completely wrong lol

  3. I feel like we're not having enough fighting these playoffs. Guys are throwing cheap shots and not having to answer for it. Fighting in hockey is there for the players to police the game when the rules fall short. I'm not saying we need 3 fights a game, but a fight every other game or so is justifiable

  4. Why am I paying a 1.80 for a litre of gas and why is using your stick as weapon, same as fighting a guy who wants to fight.

It’s not like Draisaitl was like “Alex pretend your stick is an axe my a log and we need a fire so let’s make some kindling “

    Joke

  5. Give refs MORE tools? 10 minute misconduct for nonsense non penalties just to get guys off and get games over with is overused and stupid. We give out 10s for nonsense but outright punches in scrums get nothing while the outcome is still in doubt. It's dumb. One set of rules from the 1st minute to the last minute. Take the refs out of the game by making all the rules equally enforced

  6. There are plenty of examples where one player aggressively and out of the blue goes after another who wants no part of a fight. Second player should not be penalized.

  7. Getting an instigator penalty shouldn't result in a suspension. Leave it as a 2-minute penalty, or at worst, a 10-minute misconduct.

I think they need to get rid of the "two referee" system, then change it so the linesmen can call penalties. They would be getting rid of one body from the playing surface, while going from two "refs" to three.

  8. Think we can all agree the Nurse suspension makes no sense. I get it’s the RULE but this one esp should’ve been overturned, both guys agreed to fight

  9. i would be more inclined to say NHL referees are "the best" if blatant penalties occur in front of them and are not called. In addition, it is clear some refs just dislike certain teams and certain players. Some sort of semi-transparent evaluation of the officiating crew should occur after every game. At the end of the season the poorest performing 5% should be fired. The quality and consistency of officiating would improve significantly.

  10. Not a happy Oilers fan rn. Petro only getting 1 game is a joke the intent to injure using his stick as a wepon is not hockey. Imo its less of a hockey play and more of auslt with a weapon with intent to injure then that huge mark scheifele hit on evans was where scheifele got a 4 game suspension despite having 0 history just like petro and petro only gets 1 wtf im realy stating to belive the wheel of punishment is real.

  11. Just clarification on the Mark Stone quote…
"I think he asked him at the faceoff, but then gets jumped"
Nurse comes at Hague when Foegle already had him tied up and even throws a pretty mean elbow at Hague as Nurse grabbed him.

  12. I kinda like the neon colors. I think Dallas has the best neon jersey though.

I hate to say it but I think Landeskog's career is over

  13. Why was Nurse suspended? Why WASN'T Kane suspended for cross-checking Alex P. in the face? Why wasn't Yamamoto suspended for the cross-check into Stone's back? Why aren't PENALTIES even being called for all the infractions Edmonton is committing on Vegas? What's being let go, is once again, unbelievable, and begs the question, which team does the league want to win this series? Yeah, I'll go there…

  14. How about Kane taking an 8 step rush to crosscheck Petro to the head in Game 3? Lets look at the constant crosschecks to the back of Stone all game long every game?

Nurse deserved the suspension as did Petro.

  15. How Vancouver can clear cap space: Answer delivered by the lottery draft results.
What Chicago (we'll upsell!) NEED, is a veteran MENTOR for Bedard (that he can go and live with on arrival; a family guy, too, like … ??), and Bedard will need a "sniper" winger! Would you really need to 'sweeten' that deal with any picks, sending Miller and Boeser to The Hawks? (Hell, the 'sweetener' could simply be not asking for anything in return!) $14.65 Million OFF THE BOOKS, right there. Make no mistake: Chicago WILL INDEED be looking for SOMEONE ???? to play with Bedard, other than Taylor Raddysh. YOU HAVE your dance partner, Mr. Allvin !! GET ON THE PHONE TO CHICAGO, before some other teams do! (And see if they'll take Myers off your hands too! ($20.65 Million gone!!!) – (or Larsson; he'd cost a HECK OF A LOT more 'sweeteners' than Myers would, and with these other three gone, you could bury his hit in the press box, if you had to, like they did with Eriksson) That may need a 'sweetener', but would be WELL WORTH IT, to get all three salaries off the books for a 1st round draft pick, or whatever it would be.

  16. Shannon, Edmonton is your bracket pick, huh. Easy to tell. Also, if you screw around with the rule book, you're going to wind up like baseball. Hey, how about this, start overtime without goalies, team that scores the most in five minutes wins. Or, start overtime with a man from each team in the offensive zone instead of at the faceoff. Crazy.. Maybe instigator wasnt the penalty he should have gotten, I agree, but he was fourth man in, third Oiler, that's gotta be worth some time, don't ya think. Anyways, thanks for all ya do dude. Peace
    GOKNIGHTSGO!!😼

  17. Well a legal hit is a legal hit. Why is it odd that it's not a penalty.? It's a physical sport. Like American Football. I'm pretty sure everyone involved knows the risks.

  18. I don't think Vancouver's cap problem is that big now. There are more than 10 possible places to unload Myers, he can't block them all. Possibly he can block all the ones that involce zero retention, but you probably even have the ability to retain 20 or 30 %. And then you'll get a lot of LTIR relief. OEL obviously you are stuck with til the end.

  19. I guess it's open season now on top players. Just give them an overhead slash and you'll only get one game. Good job NHL and DOPS. Morons!

  20. Only the nhl could say starting a fight is the same level of punishment as intent to injure with a vicious overhead slash

  21. I don't blame the officials at all for whay happened at the end of the Edmonton Vegas game. I blame Perron. He decided to uphold Nurse's automatic suspension because he couldn't let Petriangelo off without any suspension, but the Vegas media and fan base were mad about Kane's cross-check. He did it to try to appease everyone, not to increase player safety. It's obvious

  22. nurse i game is a joke for what alex p. gets 1 game for intend to kill somebody no wonder people dont care anymore about the nhl the maple leaf guy got what 4 games take your game and shove it

  23. Betman needs to go. His one and only goal is to grow the game in the US and ensures that Canadian team will not be successful. The officiating is so lopsided. Bunting is bleeding from a high stick and Florida gets only 2min. What the league is doing is so blatant
