Edmonton Oilers swing trade for Mattias Ekholm of Nashville Predators | INSTANT Trade Reaction



The Edmonton Oilers have made a big swing ahead of Friday’s NHL Trade Deadline, acquiring defenseman Mattias Ekholm from the rebuilding Nashville Predators along with a sixth-round pick in exchange for powerplay specialist Tyson Barrie, prospect Reid Schaefer, a first-round pick and fourth-round pick.   1. Love this trade. Barrie is gone( only good on the pp) we get ekholm (someone who can play pk, play the d game, great pick passer and will eat some of nurses mins)

  2. First thought going through my mind after hearing Barrie is going to the Preds was who else is going to play on the right side?
    I also hope the PP doesn't take a hit.
    Love the idea of Ekholm, want to see who he plays with and how many mins.
    I suspected this was the year to trade a prospect/pick/roster player for someone.
