  1. I'm a Panther fan and really people!!!!! Forget the patch ossue…..let's get the Cup and win this series…..most florida fans down here are so bandwagon so shut the F%UK UP………This is a stupid thing to complain about.

  2. i work at the montreal canadiens official boutique and i can tell you that the sponsorship tag is an option, jersey donā€™t come automatically with the patch.
You have to ask for it at the counter and if you wanna put another patch or whatever itā€™s up to you.
So iā€™m guessing the fan that shop at the panthers boutique can also have the option to get a jersey with or without the sponsorship patch.

  3. I'm so happy we made the finals but man it's ugly. They could have put the ad over the finals patch, or put the ad on the shoulder or SOMETHING else. But it's not that big of a deal, let's go Panthers!!!!

  4. Is it a big deal? No. But what's not to understand? People are tired of watching hockey uniforms turning into a NASCAR. And now they're working around them. It's a justified gripe if you ask me.

  5. As someone who has a fairly decent jersey collection I literally keep my eyes double peeled for anything unusual or out of the ordinary, I'll be buying a tkachuk jersey with the finals patch on for that exact reason

  6. Panthers fan here, I agree, it looks janky, but, we're in the damn Finals for the first time in 27 years. I've been suffering soooo long. Hell, they could change the colors to pink and purple and make the Panther into a damn unicorn and I'd still be happy AF since we're in the finals.

  7. Nah nah i get it, it completely ruins the symmetry of the jersey, this was not put there by anyone who knows anything about design.

  8. Jersey ads suck. Donā€™t owners make enough money without them? Itā€™s not like the ads are lowering ticket prices.

  9. The NHL as a whole has become a disappointment in a number of ways. The style of play in the regular season has become so cream puff that a bunch of players who have success there totally disappear when the playoffs start, because they arenā€™t comfortable at all when the hitting, and intensity begins.

The salary cap structure gives certain teams in non traditional markets an unfair advantage, because they can sign players for less of a cap hit – due to there being no state taxes. (Thereā€™s a reason weā€™ve seen Florida teams featured in the last 5 Cup Finals, and 7 of the last 10 eastern conference finals). Teams with no state taxes can carry rosters with far more depth than the rest of the league. Itā€™s a problem that needs to be rectified. The fact that itā€™s not even discussed at NHL meetings is pretty concerning.

The expansion teams have been handed too many assets out of the gate. I can understand the league not wanting to put teams through the kind of losing San Jose, Ottawa, Tampa etc had to go to out of the gate with their expansion rules, but itā€™s gone too far the other way now. Itā€™s a joke that weā€™re seeing Vegas in its second Final and fourth conference final in only six seasons. Seattle reaching round 2 in year two is following that trend. It just feels fabricated, because it is.

The ongoing Arizona situation is an embarrassment. Either the Coyotes gotta go, or Bettman needs to go.

Thereā€™s a major unfair travel imbalance between conferences that has gone on unchecked for decades. Some of the Eastern teams have the luxury of not even leaving their time zones for months at a time. They get to be back home in their beds the majority of nights after a road game. Thereā€™s a reason why so many big name players have left the Western conference over the years. There are ways the league could look at levelling out the amount of miles teams are being forced to put on during the season. IE having the Eastern teams make more trips out west during the year. For example. When the Rangers come out west, it shouldnā€™t be an 8 game road trip, where they go through western Canada, and California etc all in one trip. Have them make that trip more times, while playing less games during the trips.

The officiating in the playoffs is atrocious. It needs to be rectified. The sad part is the league canā€™t even get video reviews right. The Panthers clinching game against Toronto was a prime example of this. How does everyone miss a guy clearly grabbing and holding a stick of a defender, while his teammate fires the series clinching goal in the net? Why are we still questioning whether a puck was in the net, or not? With the technology we have available today, that shit shouldnā€™t happen. Scoring plays are automatically reviewed in other leagues. Why not in cases like this? There are too many ticky tack penalties being called as a whole in the playoffs. The game is meant to be played 5 – on – 5. Itā€™s turned into nothing but a special teams competition. Unless a team the league doesnā€™t want to see win, like Edmonton gets a hot powerplay. Then all the calls going their way seemingly disappear late in a series.

The lack of character in the game today is also a growing concern. Teams need to back off a bit when it comes to controlling the way their players give interviews etc. People want to see emotion, and they want to hear whatā€™s really on these players minds. They donā€™t want to hear about ā€œgetting pucks in deep, and sticking with the system for a full 60 minutesā€ every single interview. Itā€™s a boring waste of time.

  10. Trash take. Keep the jerseys clean. Letā€™s not act like we wouldnā€™t be annoyed if it was our team that had to deal with this. Letā€™s be real.

  11. I understand why there are ads on the jerseys. Case and point: the NFL and CFL. But the STYLE is different. And the history. The Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers were basically wearing ads since their names were based off the companies that owned the teams. The ONLY time this has sort of happened in hockey is with the Toronto Maple Leafs when they were the Arenas (and because they couldnā€™t come up with a name, they were just called the Torontos), and the Boston Bruins whose original colours were based on the chain of grocery stores that the owner had.
My main gripe with putting the Stanley Cup Finals patch next to the Captainsā€™ letters instead of somewhere else like the other side is because itā€™s the freaking Stanley Cup. You prioritized an ad over the Stanley Cup. Even for the NFL and CFL, they donā€™t prioritize ads over the placement of a championship patch. Iā€™d say thatā€™s why a lot of people are upset.
