Mo has a very different play style, but wow!
The thing about Lidstrom is he was overshadowed by Coffey and Konstantinov until Vladdie got hurt. I watched em all as a little kid and loved Vladdie cause of the passion and hits (Seider has that!) and he def overshadowed Nick til the limo crash. But Lidstrom also shut down Lindros for Scotty so I knew he was good but another level after losing Vladdie.
I'm just hoping Seider keeps progressing and has a good career!
IMO, he is better, already, he should/could be a forward really…
Imagine if the wings would have scooped deangalo off waivers last year, or in a trade like I wanted. Attitude aside he would have been another great steal for this squad
When the Wings drafted Seider, they were comparing him to Brian Rafalski, and I thought that was cool. Now that we've seen him play, they're comparing him to Niklas Lidstrom? This is crazy.
I marvel daily at the calm composure, hockey smarts and physical abilities of Mo Seider. That play in the Edmonton game where he pressured from behind but held his arm out and didn't grab to harass but avoid the penalty says it all. What a stellar pick.
Dude did you see when he made that guy fly into the boards when seider spun around a check
Not to nitpick at your reporting, or downplay how well Mo is playing, but let's not forget the fact that Lids was runner up to the Norris the three years before he won it… not because he was the second best Dman, but because the Canadian voters would not give it to a Swede.
🇩🇪❤️
He reminds me more of Konstantinov, plays with an edge that is game changing.
OK it's nice to see the young prospects play this well. It make the Wings a fun team to watch again. But c'mon, 2 months of NHL action isn't enough to put the kids up with those true HOFers. I hope they are that good. But they are not there yet. I didn't think the Wings would be this good this season. But Stevie put experienced players around these young guys that make for a solid TEAM. It's a fun time to be a RW fan.
More like Victor Hedman & Mattias Ohland hybrid
Seider is looking at Hedman type money within a few years ($8mil AAV)
Lidstrom had the benefit of playing with vlady, fetisov, Coffey and Murphy. Let's hope yzerman surrounds mo with some amazing talent. Edvinson looks like the real deal but he's only 18. Hope Johansson or wallinder do the same.
Ok chill out
Exciting hockey for sure!
You need to find a new niche. You know nothing about hockey. I am a wings fan. I love Seider.
Correction, Lidstrom wasn't just one of best defenseman ever. He was the best defenseman ever, period.
Freshman
And Oasis were the new and better Beatles
Lidstrom year 1 was pretty much a perfect human already..60 pts in 82 games for a dman. Seider will never do that
Go look at “Ice Hockey GIF’s” vid on Simon Edvinsson, another Seider?
I had the feeling that Seider was going to be good even before watching this video. I see a very strong potential for a hall of fame career out of this kid. Yzerman has struck the gold mine, and now he has a dynasty for the future in his hands with these two. (Raymond & Seider). Not to mention Cossa has been playing great too. The Yzerplan is in full effect.
He’s more a Larry Robinson type
ahahahahahahahahahaahahahahaha
Alright knock it off Jesus today's hockey fans jump the gun like I've never seen before. Kid will be am absolute stud but please pimp the breaks here lol
Let's meet back up here in 10 years and make our comparisons then.
I think his biggest comparison style wise is Mattias Öhlund, former canucks defenceman and Hedman's original mentor. But Seiders probably better than him already too.
Det var en annan hocky då.nu är det dam hocky om man jämför så att jämföra dom nu är fel
Love Seider, but let's pump the brakes a little bit.
There's no cap on how good he will become either, noone knows yet what records he'll create for himself…
My thought is…. Wait for Simon Edvinsson! Now as was pointed out in the SHL prospects video Albert Johansson is tearing up the SHL too, and Yzerman traded up AND passed on Aatu Raty to take Shai Buium! I'm not sure what we're going to do with all this D. Really. Hronek has gone from our top D to 2nd line and if Johansson and Buium pan out he's partnered with Lindstrom…. And they have at least 5 guys knocking down their door. That doesn't even include Stecher, Leddy, Osterly, and Stall.
Sigh….. I remember screaming for us to take Hughes
When you watch the sport alot you come to expect the young guys to look a bit overwhelmed and sometimes out of place. You dont see it with Seider. Im blown away by how extremely smart he is out there. There's times when I'll even say "that is how Lidstrom did it" But not at 19 or 20!!. Yzerman had a blueprint for success in Tampa. He's methodically finding players here for those roles. Hell, Edvinson hasn't even shown up yet. This team is trending and could have the beginnings of a scary good defense real soon.
