Brad Treliving is expected to be the next Toronto Maple Leafs GM… and he’s already been getting hate for it… I don’t think anyone thought Matthew Tkachuk would be the one defending and praising him! Good on him. The nhl playoffs continue aswell!

I don’t think anyone would’ve thought Tkachuk would be the one to praise Brad Treliving for his new role after leaving his team…. Good on him for that!
Of course he loves Treliving…The Oilers completely destroyed TurtleChuck last year in the playoffs. Kassian had humiliated him., he demanded Treliving trade him at a tender age of 24 and Treliving complied and immediately sent him to another country and timezone…If "Chucky" were not in the playoffs right now you would not have heard a peep from him……That is the REAL Tkachuck. He isn't fooling anyone.
It's a hate the parent, hate the kid kind of thing with Tkachuk.

I am Flames fan, so I loved Tkachuk from the first season. He was always doing something to influence the game, sometimes it was smart, sometimes stupid. But i do feel when with the Flames he never rise to his full potnetial. Why? Maybe the coaches, maybe him beign young, dont really know. Because of him I care today for the Panthers (and cuase of Johnny for the Blue Jackets – i so wanted them to get Bedard).

I think Sutters influence did more bad than good for Tkachuk, honestly. He needed someone to tell him that he was letting his emotions control him on the ice, not for his or the teams benefit. He needed to grow up, and I dont think Sutter cared as long as he was being aggressive. I cant wait to see how the Flames do under a new coach. I think Sutter is too oldschool for the younger generations.. A lot of people cant take criticism and take it to heart. Thats who Sutter is though, and you aint changing a damn thing about him.

Tkachuk is a class act and in a great market in Florida . Trevlin is a good GM, but the GTA is a shit market , full of whiney, entitled crappy fans , the worst in the NHL. They are also egged on by the obscenely biased sports media based in Toronto. 50 % coverage for the Leafs , 50% coverage for the rest of the league. The Leafs are on my no trade list if I'm a player.

As a panthers fan I loved Tkachuk on the Flames. He was the main reason I liked the Flames. I remember there being rumors of him going to Florida, I was thinking “no way that’s going to happen”, and it happened! I immediately loved the trade. I never understood the hate for the guy… probably because people like to hop on the hate bandwagon to be honest. He’s a gritty and great player that gets under people’s skin. He treats his teammates and others with respect. If you are on the opposing team as a player or fan… yeah you’ll get irritated with him. He’s great at his job. Got to meet him and Keith, both great people. Keith is definitely proud 😂
I think maybe Toronto fans need to start looking inwards as to why their team has only gotten past the first round once the past 20 years and hasn’t come close to a cup in god knows how long. They’ve had MANY different iterations but it always goes the same way. The pressure they put that team under is unlike any other in the league. From top to bottom, those fans will put you over the fire the second you don’t perform the way they think they want you to. I know there’s some level of that everywhere, but with Toronto it’s dialled up to 11. The media doesn’t help either, but the fans are just as bad, if not worse. Not to mention doing things like freely giving the Panthers something to rally behind before the series was even set to start (“we want Florida!”).
