Silovs STOLE the SHOW at IIHF (Canucks & Latvian goaltender)

  1. Absolutely agree! Very excited for Silovs. His future is bright. I expect the Canucks should be grooming this kid to be Demko's heir apparent. If he continues to develop, the Canucks will have some options when Demko's contract expires in 2025-26. If Silovs is ready for the NHL, Demko could be very attractive trade bait. But that's getting too ahead of ourselves. His development timeline might be: Maybe another year in Abby in 2023-24, serving as Demko's backup for a season in 2024-25, while continuing to work with Ian Clark. Then we'll see if he's ready for primetime in 2025-26 when Demko's contract is expired. Thanks for posting, Trev!

  2. SHilovs ir right, Silovs is wrong!!! Because in Latvian is no SH but – Š like Škoda like Brendan SHanahan like SHAME – SH SH but not S, believe me – SHILOVS with SH is right!!! We hate that to hear wrong, he is IIHF MVP goalie and our Latvian generational talent!! If you making a video, make sure you you pronounce the name and last name right, it's ridiculous….

  3. Next Best Goalies probably trade Demko 5 million ease capspace . Next Brobrosky solid in net Slisov ?Demkos is injuries prone? LOS ANGELES knocking on Demko I'll make the trade for asset if I was GM of vancouver Demko 5millliion comes of the Books

  4. Latvian passing by to share some thoughts: Latvia is stable in the IIHF, but has only ranked 7th historically. We are a small country (only 2M population) but there is love for hockey. This year we have great synergy between the players, and we co-hosted the tournament, so all games were Home games giving an additional emotional boost from fans. After the victory, our parliament (legislative branch; think Congress for US) came together just before midnight and passed an amendment to national holiday law marking the next day a holiday. Worker rights here require overtime pay for national holidays, so to avoid double pay a lot of offices were simply closed that Monday. Something like that happening hopefully highlights how notable this Bronze was for the local public. And yes – the start of the name (Šil) is a Shil sound due to the Š character, so similar to the start of Shill (without the double-L) — Shilovs.
