This is the WORST Missed Call I have EVER SEEN…

The Carolina Hurricanes were down 1-0 with 2 minutes to go against the Florida Panthers… Shayne Gostisbere gets high-sticked right in front of the referee, and there is no call… a crucial missed call that could’ve led to a completely different outcome. Let me know your thoughts in the comments of this game 3 bout.

  1. Missed high stick calls in the final minutes of a game have been the theme this Stanley cup. Happened to Tampa against Hagel, islanders (how Carolina won that game) are a couple just off the top of my head.

  2. Okay so #1, majority of the contact was the shoulder and a littttlllleee tiny bit on the visor, and hell there are even angles showing it NEVER even touched his visor. #2 It is his job to draw penalties in that situation but if they were to call a high sticking call he would have been called for embellishment so pick your poison. Its clear he is holding the lower end of his face when it never came close to it and was checking himself on the bench and had an outrage about it, again it is his job to draw the penalty but you can only act so much before it is unbelievable.

  3. Im finding the officiating now seems more rigged than EVER. Could it be because of Las Vegas being in the league now? Not sure but for the past few years its been awful. Here is another thing. I can still recall a day when a team would be penalized because they were a bad team. Now it seems like the Officials are calling games to try and even up the game results rather than calling a penalty a penalty when it occurs.

  4. Actually, you should probably get your eyes checked. Because that was clearly an obvious embellishment. The blade of the stick touches his shoulder(barely) and did not at all touch his face or helmet. Yet he try to act like he was shot.
Great non-call by the ref that was right there to see it. Although he should have called a penalty on Carolina for that.

  5. You must be blind pal.
"Gostisbere clearly gets highsticked". Yes. The stick glanced off the side of his helmet and he went down like he'd been shot. The flip side of calling all the hooking, holding and hacking that Mario had to play through, to make the game better, is that you get soccer players like this pussy trying to sell calls in the playoffs. He was prepared to take himself out of the play for it. I play through a lot worse than this in my 50 and over beer league. Can you imagine getting back to the bench and telling Mark Messier how hurt you are?? Embarrassing…..

  6. Yes it was a "high stick" but there "should have" been an embellishment call on him too… the empty net goal was negated as well, so it was evened out. Also , this is NOT why Carolina will lose the series, lol!!! This take is a pretty big joke, just my opinion.

  7. Major dive, light tap on visor and dude acts like he lost 4 teeth. If a high stick was called, an embellishment penalty should have been called as well. 1 more game and another huge upset for Florida. Bye bye Boston, Toronto and hopefully Carolina tomorrow.

  8. Barely touched his visor and right cheek bone and he sold like he got hit in the front teeth. If you look at 41 to 42 second mark – you can see the white between his face and the stick.

  9. No, the worst missed call was the high stick on Cousins and he was bleeding! It should have been a double minor. And that call is not the reason they're down 3-0.

  10. If that's the worst non-call you've ever seen you've only been watching hockey a few hours. The Canes have gotten away with high sticks all season (remember the Islanders OT?). Gost embellished that one a little too. Probably did hit his helmet, but he went down like Neymar. Used to be that the refs put the whistles deeper in their pockets in the playoffs and called the ticky-tack stuff in October. I'm a Leafs fan, but I don't think even a late PP in the last 2 would have helped Carolina. They didn't have the key to Bobro that night.

  11. That was so soft, if I did the same to you, you would of thanked me. But jokes aside, it was indeed a high stick, but I do think there was also a flop canceling out.

  12. You mean they should have called Cane's gotstbere for embellishment?

  13. Had the Canes player not embellished and feigned injury, maybe he would have gotten the call. Had all the right calls been made on that play, there would have been a high sticking penalty, and an embellishment penalty, which would have nullified an advantage for either team. If you're going to point out the high sticking, you should also point out the embellishment. This is small potatoes and no impact on the game or series. You should instead do a video on how the Canes have been swept in their last 12 Eastern Conference Finals games.
